serious question. almost anything can be explained away for reasons of security. but where is the line. when have we reached the best balancde between personal freedoms and so called security. (security from who, really). once again, this is a serious question. wheres the line?

When they start abusing thier authority. For instance, if that line had been crossed, you would shortly be 'disapeared' for asking such questions.

Two indicators:
1) They violate the rights of citizens and treat the citizen as a criminal.
2) They claim non-citizens have the rights of citizens and treat illegals better than they treat legal citizens.
