I hope that in the next 15 or 20 years the next president and vice president should be children that were born in the US from illegal parents from Mexico. What do you think? America would be a better place.

Hey look at Alberto Gonzales, he is not president, but he is the highest ranking law official in the country. I think his parents or grandparents are or were illegals, so, yes it is possible. If it makes this country better, only time will tell

A child of illegals born today could, indeed, run for president 35 years from now. All you need to be is a natural born citizen at least 35 years old. Your race and the citizenship of your parents don't matter.

Such a person could hold virtually any political position, though, from wanting to turn the Southwest over to Mexico, to wanting to invade and conquer Mexico - so I wouldn't make any predictions about the consequences.

So we would have a president who was brought up to ignore laws, not respect their country or the office they hold? The American flag is acceptable to step on, drag, burn, or sew on the backside of an Mexican flag? Sounds just like Mexico. No worries, the illegals and their ilk will destroy this country just as they have their own.

While the 14th amendment was intended to give citizenship to emancipated slaves, and while there is no evidence that the 14th amendment was a definition of natural born citizen, the courts have misapplied the 14th amendment to criminals, and have defined natural born citizen to include anyone born on US soil. It isn't right. But that's the way it is.

i don't think any child of an illegal should be a citizen, they should be illegal as well as parents. no America would not be a better place at all. it would be run down like Mexico...

It's of no importance if their parents were or are illegal. If they are the best candidates and are loyal to our country, I don't see the problem.

Who cares who his parents were as long as he is a proud and outstanding U.S. citizen that will not drag us in pointless wars and desperate goose chases.
