If crossing her legs is meant to try to get her to stop sitting "spread eagle" i guess its an alright option. If this is the case try getting her to cross her ankles instead or just close her legs a bit. If shes sitting lady-like already i don't think whether or not she crosses them should be a problem unless shes wearing a skirt or dress and then it should be a requirement if she is to wear any of those garments.

Why is it so important for her to cross her legs? Just as long as she is sitting in a feminine fashion, and not agape.
There are so many "role models" for girls out there right now that are not exaclty considered "feminine." So, maybe she's picking up trends from school and culture (not that it's a good thing).
Have you thought about letting her throw a tea party or something of the like for her friends? This would require some preparation on her part, and a non-confrontational way to indroduce the concept of good manners. You could get an etiquette book from the library and plan a fancy meal, and casually mention proper sitting. Just an idea. Plus it would give the 2 of you time to bond.

why are you worrying about it at 10? is she wearing short dresses and skirts? if so, have her wear shorts underneath. she'll get to the leg crossing when she's ready, but if you insist that she cross, it is healthier for the legs to cross at the ankles instead of the knees. you may consider a charm class (like i took), but she may not be interested. again, she's only 10.
i'm 48 and don't cross regularly...too uncomfortable sometimes.

Crossing one's legs should be a personal choice. It's not bad manners. And she's only 10, for cryin' out loud. Let her be 10 years old. Stop trying to make her act like a "woman".

omg she is 10!! Why the heck are you encouraging her? She's not a woman. she's a girl, not even a teen yet. I mean crossing legs isn't a bad thing but, its no big deal if you do or don't. Personal preference.

You asked this question once before... I'll say it again... She is TEN. Why, in God's name do you want her acting like a woman?????
Leave her alone. I never cross my legs, and I'm a 43 year old woman. It doesn't make me less of a woman, it just makes me a woman who doesn't want blood clots and spider veins, both things that can be caused and/or aggravated by crossing legs.
