Mexican-American, pro-Civil Rights organizations need to empower the Mexican underrepresented political side in the democratic process for comprehensive reforms.

It's about the business lobby greed for cheap labor and a bigger bottom line, using docile hardworking labors. Then add to the mix the interest of those of Hispanic Heritage serving in the congress like Mel Martinez. Add a good helping of social do gooders like Ted Kennedy, and lets not forget McCain, thinking that it will increase in voters for him in the election for president. And a comprehensive immigration bill is born. The only ingredient missing is the interest of the middle class tax payer that have to pay the cost of this so called reform. If amnesty is passed this country as we know it will never be the same. It will serve the needs of the illegals and we will pay the price both in our taxes and our way of life

Carol> it is not about illegals serving in congress, it is about congress serving the needs of the illegals by those who benefit from their being granted amnesty

Seems weird! White-collar People who do not understand the migrant phenomenon are making or reforming laws for them?
Sounds dictatorial!

No one. Congress is dithering about it but making no worthwhild progress. There are no illegal alien congressmen (that I know of), but there are /many/ congressmen who support either the illegals themselves (calling for amnesty, blocking any effective attempt to enforce emmigration law, etc) or support the interests that exploit them (calling for 'guest worker' programs, blocking any effective attempt to enforce emmigration law, etc).

It's a fallacy that people frequently fall for to think that you can only be represented by 'one of your own.'

Do you think Congress is made up of illegal aliens? You need to do some research.
