People are drawn to those who will tell them what they want to hear. Which is why the "Faith alone" doctrine is so popular. Everyone wants to believe that the path of least resistance is the correct choice.
And shouldn't the quote be "There's a sucker born-again every minute?"

Yeah, wasn't it "Ford" who said that?
Anyway, yes, people love to be deceived, thats sooooo true.
In fact so true, that God is sending someone to finally deceive the whole damn bunch, so as to weed out the goats from the sheep.
God clearly says that if you want to listen to the nonsense of man, fine, he'll even send you strong delusion so that you'll believe those lies more than ever.......
And its a person's own fault when they do, since they think Gods Word isn't good enough for them, and won't study it.
They either listen to some Priest every week, or else they just sit and mock the very idea of God.
Both are gonna get what they deserve.

This is the worldly view. Perhaps you are being decieved also?
Revelation 22:15
Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolators and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
Romans 16: 17-19
I urge you, brothers. to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned, keep away from them. 18) for such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people. 19)Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I am full of joy over you; but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil.
This is what I love about having Jesus in our lives...that we know when the deciever comes, and be able to recognize it and cast it out. It's not that "a sucker's born every minute", but the devil is a liar, who's come to steal, kill, and
destroy

Well it has nothing to do with being a sucker. It has to do with our spiritual nature, when men and women do not recognize or believe wholly in the LORD God Almighty and in His Word, and follow it and are obedient to it and not man - then they will give heed to seducing spirits in all forms, classifications and all activities. This is because they have stopped worshipping God and must fill the void with something and that is what they go whorring after, spiritually and literally.

For some people, there is a corner of mysticism in the mind. I've seen this in so many people I know. They leave fundamentalism and replace it with healing crystals or numerology or some other equally silly thing.
Are we all born with it? I'm not sure. I think we're all born with the capacity for it. I think, like many interests, the things that "grow" the most in our lives are the things we "feed." I think that mysticism is more highly valued in certain societies and so those people grow up with mindsets that encourage that type of thinking. Other cultures play it down, and those people grow up thinking more logically.
I do think its based in natural evolution and a little bit of social evolution too.

Its not the point of people wanting to be deceived they have lack of knowledge, looking for someone to tell them what they want to hear, desperate for answers and looking for a quick fix and the only thing they are conjuring up or talking to in psychics is demons because the only thing pyshics are talking is a demon in the formation of there loved one god is against such sylvia brown is one ,david copperfield is another it is a form of wichcraft they are using and may not realize it. people are hungry for truth and what this world needs is people that will lead them in the right direction, now God will open the spirit to show you things he will show you thru prayer ,praise and worship and it will be thru the holy spirit ,you have to read his word to know the difference anything that doesnot align with the word cancel it . People in desperate need resort to desperate measures. I think the possibility exists in the back of their mind that they are being taken for a ride. But there's always that little voice that lets them think "What if...".

Love being deceived? I don't think so. I think it is just the ignorance of the people. Religions rely on it.

I think people just like the idea of it. I don't for a second believe in any of those things, but it's always fun just to see what the outcome is and if it has anything to do with your life. And if it does, especially if it's good, you kinda want to believe in magic just for that moment.

I knew a psychic once and she said that her crowd were people who didn't believe in a God, so there must be a greater amount of non-believers then people let on.
