the internet has in many respects closed the distance gap for many people. i know people that live in england, australia, south america and other places i haven't visited around my own country. i haven't fallen in love with all of them but there is one... my question is have you fallen in love with anyone on yahoo! answers and i don't mean do you have a crush on someone. have you started a budding relationship with someone here? if so, have you discussed meeting each other? is the only challenge you have financial? i'm not asking for opinions on whether or not long distance relationships work or if you think people that get romantically involved with people over the internet are stupid. thank you for your cooperation.

Yes I have. I met my sweetheart here on Yahoo A.--- he goes by "bluedevil", was "toughguy"when I first met him on here. We first found each other in July of 2006. He answered my question -- I commented on one of his, we began emailing and did that for about 1 1/2 months and felt a real bond and friendship. We admired each other's qualities and ideals. We then spoke on the phone on Aug. 18 and knew we were in love. He told me that day and I told him. He lives in Atlanta, GA and I live in southern IL. I am 52 and he is 53.
We then had many emails and calls until we actually met in Nashville, TN on Dec. 14th. We knew then for a fact that we were meant to be together. Before that meeting , we had not even seen a pic of each other.
We met again in Feb. in Indianapolis. and it was wonderful again and we fell more in love. I then flew to Atlanta in late March and stayed for 8 days--met his mom, brothers, friends and all of them welcomed me with open arms. I will be going there again in early June and then I will move there in August so we can be together for the rest of our lives. We have a true love, and friendship and feel we are soulmates, and I could not have found him if it weren't for the Internet.
For younger, maybe more easily influenced people this may not always be the right venue to meet someone, You need to be cautious and have good judgment. For us ,we were blessed enough to have found someone trustworthy and honest.
If you are in a similar situation, best of luck --hope it works out for you both.
**Wow-- meodlywh...you do have the challenge of such a longer distance than my honey and me--but as my mom used to say "where there's a will , there's a way " =]

Ahhhh that is so sweet but makes me kind of sad. I met someone through answers. I live in Michigan and he is over 3000 miles away in the UK. However, we had more than just the financial situation standing in the way. He has a 5 yr old from a previous marriage and realized he couldn't be apart from him for that long. We fell in love after emailing and speaking on the phone. He is still a very special friend I hope to meet one day but he has moved on romantically. Isn't it an unreal feeling to be in love with someone and feel so close emotionally yet never have "met"? Here's a little quote from me inspired by him. "you don't need physical touch to love someone when they have touched your heart". I wish you the best of luck.....

No, but I did fall in love with someone I met on Yahoo! personals. Luckily we only live 45 minutes apart, and every drive back and forth the last year and a half has been worth it.

oh,yessss!!i have fallen helplessly in love..among many problems...i think the financial aspect is the most important!!
yes,the relationship is very challenging, sadness cause you're far away!
some jealousy is also involved!
desperation cause you don't know when you will finally be able to hold each other in the arms!!

and hopefully we will see each other soon[i can't stand the waiting!!]
so i would have to say that the expenses are the reason we can't be together right away!!!

Yes and very deeply with gitlnamedmaria who lives about 550 miles from me. We met on here when I answered one of her questions and later she was curious about one of my resolved questions about the Beatles as she loves music just like I do. She emailed me in July on yahoo and asked if I would like to email her personally. We emailed each other for about 1 1/2 months getting to know each other better and developing a strong bond of respect, mutual admiration, and a great friendship with each other. I would get excited every time I would see her name come up on my computer and realized I had very strong feelings for her. She asked if she could call me and on August 18th she called and after about 20 minutes I saie to her "Well you know I love you" and she gasped and said I love you too! We kept emailing each other and calling as our love continued to grow and grow. Without ever seeing each other we finally met in person in Nashville, Tennessee on Dec 14th and it was if we have known each other forever. It was so amazing, so wonderful, so comfortable and we knew for sure that our love was for real. We later met in Indianapolis where we had a wonderful time again and she visited me here in Atlanta where we had a great time and she met my family and friends who welcomed her with open arms. She will be visiting in June and I can't wait to see her as I miss her so very much! and will be coming to be with me forever in August and to be my Georgia girl and I will always be her toughguy.
