Can a pediatrician determine whether or not my children have been exposed to mold? Or if they are allergic to mold? Our apartment has visible signs of mold and ive told the apartment owners already.

Yes, I believe mold allergies can be determined through various tests. But there is a bigger issue at stake here. You say your apartment has visible signs of mold. If the landlords or managers are not doing something about it, then break your lease, if you have one, and get out of there. Molds can make you and your children very ill, and if the owners don't do anything about the condition, they could get in trouble with the Housing Authority or the law. This is a dangerous situation, and I presume it has something to do with the recent flooding in some parts of the country. We had a situation like that several years ago, in which a nursing home had mold infestation from a flood. The owners eventually were required by law to move the residents to a different place, and the nursing home was torn down. So if your landlords aren't doing something about the mold, then get out of there and report them for negligence and endangerment.

Go straight to an allergist. Don't waste your money on a general practice pediatrician. All he/she will do is refer you to an allergist. Good luck!
