She may need to have her anal glands expressed, it can cause them serious pain when trying to have a bowel movement or when touched. It is an easy, but rather gross procedure. You should probably call the vet and make an aapointment to have her seen and get them expressed asap. They can burst and it will leave a nasty smell in your house then. This is the first thing most vets will check with this type of situation, if they cannot be expressed and are infected, sometimes they need to do a small surgery on them, but usually they just try to give an antibiotic to clear it up. Good Luck and I hope they can get her helped out, because it really can be painful for them!!

No vet or vet tech (I highly doubt many if any come here) but I do know what to do.
Give a tablespoon of canned pumpkin (not pie filling) or baby prunes. If she is still straining repeat twice a day. No more than 3 times. You don;t want the opposite effect.
This is probably caused through not drinking enough water and/ or not getting enough exercise. A a lot of the grocery store bought foods can cause this problem too as they have very little fiber.
If this continues you need to see the vet. A change of food may also help.

There is a product called Laxatone that is given orally. It can help her pass the stool that is already there. Also you can try to add fiber to her diet. Are you feeding puppy food? It has extra fiber, but you can also try to mix in a little lite dog food (has more fiber content) Her anus is probably sore from trying to pass firm bowel movements. I would reccomend to set up an appointment with your vet to discuss proper diet, and see which route is best for your pet.

There are a number of possible causes for her issues. Many of them are congenital issues - common to extremely small breeds. It is possible that her renal system didn't develop correctly.
Please take her to a veterinarian to have her checked out and a treatment plan devised. It could be as simple as a modification to her diet or as complex as surgery to correct a congenital defect. Be prepared - there may be nothing that can be done - and at the worst, it may be something that will take your little girl away from you.
I will keep you in my thoughts for it to be something simple.
I hope this helps.

there is a problem,, have the vet check her, could be anal gland issues, rectal issues,, etc. teacup?? that is the term for an undersized toy poodle that didn't meet the breed's standard,, as stated here many many times.. health issues run rampant
Also, make sure you are feeding her a PREMIUM QUALITY dry kibble only - designed for small breeds...

She needs to be seen by your vet. Have her anal sacs checked. also you should evalaute the food you are feeding her..it may contain way too much corn and other grains and may be causing constipation. There could also be other issues going on that can only be determined by your vet.
