I try to be polite and I’ve not called theists names, but…
Just in the past 14 Hours I’ve been called stupidassed, a twit (several times), a baboon and more (and my use has been light over this period).
Now given the source, I don’t care a whole lot – I’m just kind'a interested Are others noticing this? … Or is it the same old, same old?
And might this obnoxious behaviour imply that their FAITH is CRUMBLING, SHATTERING and DYING?

American Beauty: I note you easily sidestepped the question in a most typical manner - I too have been called much worse, of course. And BTW, "God Bless" means squat to an antheist. ... Peace and Love, Brett.

Jan; YOUR CAPS LOCK IS STUCK! I note you didn't give a CITE - You are LYING - find one post where I called people "nuts", please?
Sunshine: Pls advise where place-holding is defined as "impolite" - I see this used by folk of all stripes.
Breezey: Are you saying that stating my beliefs is somehow "wrong" - Is stating "God Bless" any less "wrong"?

Jiloth7: Sorry, I didn't/don't consider a mere question as an attack at all. It's equal and opposite to a theist wondering if atheists are in process of converting because of perceived behaviour.
Re Cristians/cursing: That's a cop-out on a *grand scale*! Most Christians claim "largest religion" at 2.1 B. If you took away all Xian swearers, thiefs, adulterers

That's what happens when your main source of "truth" is a book full of fables. They're limited in their vocabulary, so they resort to what they did in the school yard when someone called them a sissy.
Telling atheists they're going to hell doesn't work either, so they have to call us names.
I think it's fun when they call me names -- it shows what hypocrites they are when they say christians are about sharing the love.

I have noticed that many people of any religion in all sections of Yahoo! Answers have resorted to name calling and being an immature individual with no respect for others what-so-ever.
Since you are referring to Christians only, I will say that there are many false saints out there who claim to love and follow God - but in reality they're the ones talking down about people who are agnostic and have no faith but are willing to learn and find their way, or the homeless man who really could use a little spare change, or the wife who's husband is an addict or has a drinking problem but she's willing to give a second chance and stand by him because she loves him for better or for worse. Sorry those were just some examples. Frankly, it makes me very upset when people claim to be a certain religion that practices love and fairness yet half of them would rather create up more drama and nitpick an individual rather than to just let it be and mind their own business.
Let them throw out their slandering names - they're the ones who will have to deal with the consequences of their actions.
You may be right - maybe their will to believe or their faith is fading. You never know. I always say be nice to everyone you meet 'cause you never know of the battles they could be facing alone.

Maybe it's because they disagree amongst themselves regarding denominational and doctrinal issues. For example, none of my Pentecostal friends agree with the Baptists. I have a couple of Baptist friends who love to criticize "crazy holy roller Pentecostals", Mormons, and 7th Day Adventists. That sort of arguing within their own community weakens their stance, and then when they have to deal with an atheist who asks a simple question about proving a point can be too much sometimes. They're not all like that, of course, but I can't get over how many times I have encountered angry believers -- all because I couldn't understand their statements, or if I mentioned that a denomination other than their own told me something different, they have blasted me for listening to heretics (not unlike Margaret on Trading Spouses who went off about "the dork side".)

I've seen some members from all walks of life write rude and crude remarks in this section. Considering it is the Religion and Spirituality category, one would think that the people here would be the kindest. Name calling is not religious, nor is it spiritual. Those people whom are neither religious nor spiritual usually say that they get through life by being kind, helping others, etc. Rude remarks and name-calling does not fit into that category, either.

I see an attack in that last sentence. Rude aren't you?
By the way, Real Christians don't curse or call names. You must have ended up in some other place where people say they are Christians but are not.
EDIT: Evidently you didn't understand me when I said "REAL
CHRISTIANS." We don't call names, swear or accuse. We do speak the truth, and if it comes off hard as it should when people mock God and Christ then it is necessary. We are not
ignorant or uneducated, and we do know the devil has every unbeliever spiritually blinded to truth. Actually, I pity those who
are sincere but sincerely lost. When unbelievers become excessively and unnecesssarily rude by mocking in harsh words they deserve to hear about Hell because if they persist in rejecting God and being blatantly coarse and rude they will go there. The Bible says that some are "willingly ignorant."
I believe if you study the answers on this board you will know who they are. Perhaps they are false atheists just like there are false Christians here. It would be easy to have intelligent
and respectful dialogue here if - and that is a big if - we would
ignore the trouble makers and answer questions that come from a right attitude which doesn't ridicule what others believe.
ALL OF US DESERVE TO GO TO HELL. SOME OF US HAVE MADE THE DECISION TO SERVE CHRIST. OUR PURPOSE IS TO FIND OTHERS WHO ARE TIRED OF LIVING IN SIN AND WILL RECEIVE SALVATION THROUGH
HIM. If trying to rescue dying sinners from eternal torment is offensive then so be it. We will be an offense for the sake of those who will listen, and for the glory of God. I have already been imprisoned in this "land of the free and home of the brave" for expressing my beliefs in the public arena, so the words of those who seek to intimidate believers on Yahoo Answers are like the wind that passes by with little effect. I listen to those who are wise and intelligent on both sides of the issue, and try to be patient with the pretenders and those who show outright ignorance in their attitude and words.

Yep. You should see some of the names I've been called on here in the last three weeks. I've been told to go back under the rock I crawled out of, I've been called numbskull, twist, and other names in email that I won't post on here.
Yet somehow they seem to think that should change my mind about Christianity..... go figure lol.

No, I don't think the Christians are being ruder. You will know who the real Christian is by the way that they answer your question.
We have many trolls who disguise themselves as Christian and/or theists and so you might get that impression. Check their Avatar to see if they are legit. Actually, just by the questions they pose you can tell who is serious and who is trying to start trouble and get points at the same time

until eventually 40 years or so in the past there grow to be no concern between Christians and atheists! all the different religions and atheists stay in peace and are merely attacked by christians and self protection is valid! It takes quite only one to make a quarrel. that's ineffective for the sheep to bypass resolutions in favour of vegetarianism, on an identical time as the wolf remains of a diverse opinion. - William Ralph Inge. Do you no longer realize that Christians are scary retaliation and repudiation for his or her undesirable attitudes?! perhaps if Christians stopped their illiberal, egotistical, hate crammed and bigoted postings issues could exchange! perhaps if Christians stopped eschewing education, technological expertise, evolution works of fiction and lots, lots greater issues could exchange! perhaps if Christians stopped being the only faith opposing human rights and persecuting gays, professional selection and lots greater issues could exchange! perhaps if Christians stopped annoying freedom of religion on an identical time as they deny it to all non Christians and persecute them issues could exchange! If Christians rediscovered the god of affection and forgiveness and placed aside all those undesirable human emotions issues might actually exchange! Why are Christians so frightened of persons who merely don't think in any god?!!!! truthfully it may only be by fact they're so afraid that atheist are desirable and that they are incorrect or it does no longer worry them! Time for Christians to comprehend that it is not approximately god, jesus or theory yet with regard to the undesirable Christians attitudes and habit! as quickly as they rediscover the loving god Christianity used to have and start up appearing like it the priority will quit!

There will always be those who resort to name calling and other desperate tactics when they feel cornered or threatened...
Much of this could be avoided if more people of religion could accept that not everyone believes the way they do and it's ok.. But alas that simple hop (not leap) of logic seems to elude so many in their crusade (yes I am implying what you think) to ram their beliefs down the throat of all those who do not share their belief.....

Yes, I have noticed it. Although I do admit to losing it sometimes myself and calling someone an idiot. I think we're starting to make some feel defensive, which is a good thing, even if they get more rabid about their faith it still forces them to think just a little bit.

As a Christian, I'm ashamed of the way they treat people in here. That's not what Jesus would want them to do. I'm close to converting to Atheism because of them.
