Just get the license anyway. You never know when you may need to drive and sometimes you might be able to.

The reason why your mom is being that way is because she is very worried about you...she doesnt want you to go crazy one night and get into a car crash and get yourself hurt or even killed. That is just the way mothers are. Give it time she will let you drive sooner or later. My mom was the same way she didnt want me to drive and she didnt want me to take the car out...after my dad bugging her I was able to drive on my own...and I did total my moms card when I was 17 years old. I am a very paroid driver now...and I do have my own car and I am 19. Give it some time and be careful when you drive!

I'm a mom and I kept my daughters from getting their license till they were 18, and the reason was maturity, they were good grade girls too, accomplished but giggley, cell phone, gum chewing, high strung little fools with the machine concentration of an idiot. Nothing is more dangerous on the road than an immature, uncorordinated teen. My sons mom felt differently---her daughter is in a wheel chair for life. I could have told her but moms either take the easy road as friends or they can gage the readiness and maturity of their kid. Respect your mom-- she loves you more than anyother-- and she always will have your back-- even if you think she hates you.

Well, there's not much point, except for identification. Why does your mom not want you to drive? How old are you? And why does 1 parent allow it, and the other doesn't? But if your dad lets you drive, then you need a licence.

Remind her, that by allowing you to have a license, if you have permission from someone to drive their car, you are legally able to drive that person's car, so she really isnt protecting you from much unless she locks you in a cage somewhere.
There is no point in the license if she isnt going to give you the ok, since you are going to no doubt do it anyway!

she's just a typical mom... what did she say when you asked her why you can't drive? what did she say when you told her why you could get a license but can't drive? she's just worried about you... and usually, you can't do anything to change a worried mother's decisions... try asking your dad for help... ask him to convince your mom... he's the best person for the job... good luck... ~this is just my opinion~
