did you ever fall in love with a soldier?

if so, what were the problems that you have faced and what came in your way,and how did it end up?

I fell in love with a soldier decades ago. As long as we lived in my home country it was not possible to get married for certain reasons. Language and cultural problems occured somethimes but we worked it out.

He loved me so much that he left the army and worked as a civlian for the army. Got deployed to Italy, Kosovo, Ex Jugoslavia, Kuwait and Iraq. We had to live a long distance relationship for years. When he got offered a good position with the UAE army I decided to give up my job and everything else in my home country to be with him in the UAE. We got married in Abu Dhabi and live a happy live so far.

If you are with a soldier you always have to be aware to get separated for certain reasons. Is the country the soldier belongs to involved in a war or does he belong to any troops taking special care of things? He might go to special training in foreign countries, etc.

But.............he is a Govt. employee and mostly you do not have to worry a thing finacily. That can be a help in certain situations.

I never regreted to be with a soldier. You just have to be aware of certain things depending which army he is in.

Yes. He was on leave when we met, returned to Viet Nam, never knew I loved him, and went on to marry someone else.
We keep in touch by mail and phone.
