It’s hard to answer to your question, since everyone is different, but you may indirectly ask this girl on a date. How? Asked her about the activities she likes or ask a friend of her what she likes to do. For instance, let’s say she likes skating. Invite her to do that, even though you don’t know how to skate. That way you can hang with her and that way you can get to know her better and she can get to know you better. If she enjoys a first date with you, she will not hesitate to say yes to you a second time.

What I’m trying to say is that if you are not sure how she will react when you asked her out, take the sure path and asked her to do something she likes. That way it may not look like a date.

i think it's best to go up to her and just ask her point-blank "will you please be my girlfriend" or something similar. that way you can get straight to the pt. it is somewhat annoying if a guy dances around and doesn't quite tell you that he likes you. besides, a flat-out question like that might flatter her and she might be more likely to say "yes".
