My Dad passed away last week and I didn't go to his funeral because I wanted to go to his house and go through his valuables to get what I wanted before anybody else could. I know this sounds bad but I heard he kept money and stuff hidden under his bed. When I got there, my sister and stepmom were wrestling in the front yard over who got what and so on. That just really chapped me how they could be so slimey and do that. What are your thoughts?

I have actually went through this with two family members who passed, and did not have a will. My grandmother passed, and the day after her death, arguements got so heated, the police were called out twice. I'm not sure if they truly want the valueable part of it, or the sentimental part of it. I understand where you are coming from, but I think you should have found out if your dad had a will first. If he did, you may have to return those things, if they arent willed to you. Its up to the will, and if you get cut out, thats the way it goes. Maybe if he didnt have a will, you all could sit down and divide the items up evenly? I'm sorry about your dad's passing, by the way.

All families have the vultures just waiting. I have often thought, just pay my respects, then walk on, and ignore the riches left behind.
I mighy be in desparate need, and a will being read, may be the help needed, But I don't think any of it would appeal to me, from the pillage

Dude that sucks! My Boyfriend died almost a year ago and I was so out of it when I went to his final will thingy, I got most of his stuff and money his parents were so mad at me that they still don't talk tome to this day .They let GREED take over them. And it wasn't right for them but I think you did what you felt you need to do and God will deal with them in His own time. I will be praying for you in your hard time. I know how it feels. I think you should tell them how selfish they were being and how bad it made you feel. It will make you feel better

I think it's really interesting how the pot is always calling the kettle black.
I'm sorry for the loss of your dad, but I think I'm probably sorrier for you than you are, which saddens me to no end.
I also hope your dad left a will, and left everything to charity, instead of to his ungrateful family who decides to not attend his funeral and instead fight over "stuff."

Unfortunately i have seen this time and time again with fighting over objects after someone passes away. Hopefully your dad had a will and things should be dispersed accordingly. If not, good luck, you'll need it.

man grief is a strong emotion mix in a Lil greed and ya got a monster but i sounds like your in the boat with them and not on the outside looking in your trying to ok not going to your dads service just so you can beat your family to the punch .
and your not talking about getting his favorite suit or the air loom that his dad gave him >>>!! no ....!!! you want to get some $$ you think he hid ,thats not kool i think you should check your self

how can you say nething about them being there and being sneaky wen you were doing the exact same thing yourself......i cant beleive that the 3 of you never went to the funeral coz of a bit of money.....i just hope he had lots of friend who loved him at his funeral to say goodbye to him coz quite clearly the three of you are gold diggers...and only give a s**t about yourselfs.......i hope he didnt leave ne of you nething in his will!!!!!!!
