When I was 6 my doctor told me I had to get rid of all my animals, not go near anyone else's animals, stop riding the works. I refused.
Like with any allergy, if you're exposed to it in little amounts, your system does settle and get used to it to a degree, and that's what I did, back then there were no fancy sprays and things.
Years later we worked out that what the doctor thought was caused by dust which I am still allergic to was something else. I am allergic to dairy products (not lactose intolerant, there is a difference).
My mom used to wipe my room and the entire house down with a damp cloth to mimimise the dust - and got a humidifier for my use - that helped. Definitely possible to have a happilly ever after, I've never stopped riding or having lots of pets.

I have 12 cats, two dogs, and a pig, and am allergic to pets dander as well as dust mites. I simply take my medication every day, brush my cats daily and make sure the house is dust free, and I am still doing fine. I am worse with the long haired cats, and so wear a dust mask when I am brushing them. I also wash their brushes afterwards. so that any allergens clinging to the brush are washed away. The only problem I have ever had in over 30 years of having cats is when I forget to take my meds. If you take your medication, dust and clean your house you should also be fine.

Yes. I am allergic to cats, dogs, rabbits, etc and simply take allergy medicine and keep the house clean. I also keep at least one box of tissues in every room of the house. My dog, cats, (up untill last year my rabbit) and me get along fine with my allergies.

Yes, of course! There are some medications you can take that lessen your symptoms to bareable or near-nonexistant levels. Ask your doctor for some advice on this.
Also, if you don't actually HAVE a pet yet, there are certain breeds that don't shed as much or drop as much dander.
Good luck!

I would have sworn your question ended with the word 'die' before I clicked on it to see the rest... and the answer would've been yes...I think we are all reunited and we all get to live happily ever after together. :)
