Either a Renault Laguna 3.0 Rti V6 24V or a BMW 325i. I have just bought the Renault, wondered on peoples opinions.

WELL DONE!!!! It makes me so happy to see somebody choosing something other than a "go with the flow" BMW. The Laguna's a great car, especially in the high spec you've bought it in! Way more features and style than the common BMW. Congratulations, you make good decisions... Renault's rock.

I would prefer the BMW, just for the closer German tolerances on parts. I also think that the BMW is a better designed car. Good luck with the Renault, however.

The BMW without a shadow of a doubt. German engineering beats French hands down every time. Plus the 3 series looks pretty sweet which ever year it is. Which shape did you pass off? E30's are sweet, E46 are nice too, the ones inbetween aren't so hot, but nicer than a Laguna!

Laguna all the way,I have worked on both of these types of cars and recently I had the option to buy a BMW and I opted for the Laguna,There are by far more toys and better spec on the Laguna by far from the german thing and you dont have to remove your brain to drive them like most people do with beemers

Hello,
All depends on choice really. I personally would have gone for the BMW but then I am biased as I have this type of car myself.
Hope your Renault gives you good service.

The problem here is you're comparing a Renault (no matter what engine) to a BMW... I drive a Renault but if I could afford a top of the range BMW then that is what i'd go for (would have to be top of the range though), unfortunately i'm skint, so i'm v.grateful for my ickle clio sport!

If you bought new, you will lose a massive amount of money through depreciation in a few years time. Large French cars are not too popular in UK, especially with big, thirsty petrol engines. That is why they make a great used purchase, you can get 'em for peanuts.

BMWs don't do it for me; despite the slick marketing, I don't believe they are as reliable as Japanese cars, and they have a dubious image problem.
