Atheism doesn't lead people to kill. Have you ever heard someone killing "in the name of no God" or "in the name of Darwin" or "in the name of science"?

Actually, not so much of a trick question. And you are wrong.
Religion has killled more people in the last 100 years than Atheism.
The Holocaust in Europe was mostly about killing Jews, but also Gypsies, and Homosexuals, whether the killers had a religion or not makes no difference, they were mostly focused on killing people of a specific religion, thus religion "wins" the point here, not Atheism.
Then you have the conflict in Ireland, between the Protestants and the Catholics, both are religions and both are fighting against each other, though I guess not as much now as a few years ago. Again, religion...not Atheism.
Then we have the recent conflict in Bosnia, that was all about religion.
Now lets look at the conflict in the Middle East, which has been going on more or less for centuries, but more recently since WWII. The Muslims against the Christians, the Christians against the Jews, the Jews against the Muslims. And that isn't even counting the death toll that this war between religions has taken through terrorism in other countries including TWC here in America. Once again, religion beats Atheism, in the amount of people killed.
I could go on, but what's the use, you will believe as you believe no matter what anyone says.
I won't mention the persecution of those of Pagan beliefs in the middle-ages as that was more than 100 years ago.
Now, prove ME wrong.
Oh and just in case you are thinking about bringing up the abortion issue as a "fact" that Atheisim kills more than religion, forget about it. Most women who have abortions are just as religious as those who are against abortion, they just believe differently.
OK NOW prove me wrong.

humorous the variety you shrink it to the previous a hundred years merely. What relating to the non secular atrocities that exceeded off earlier further than one hundred years? Is that why you pronounced as this a 'trick question'? And atheism is to blame for the suitable crimes in human historic previous? Baloney! human beings of religion oftentimes declare that the crimes of Hitler, Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot have been the inevitable fabricated from unbelief. the issue with fascism and communism, besides the undeniable fact that, isn't that they are too severe of religion; the issue is they're too very reminiscent of RELIGIONS. Such regimes are dogmatic to the middle and many times provide upward thrust to character cults that are indistinguishable from cults of non secular hero worship. Auschwitz, the gulag and the killing fields weren't examples of what happens while human beings reject non secular dogma; they're examples of political, racial and nationalistic dogma run amok. there's no society in human historic previous that ever suffered because of the fact its human beings grew to alter into too life like.

no trick question, Religion has been behind more wars & atrosities then anyone, Satan uses religion to mislead the nations. this event has already happened 25020 yrs from the removal of the kingship from Israel Ez 21:25.........(Revelation 12:7-9) 7 And war broke out in heaven: Mi′cha‧el and his angels battled with the dragon, and the dragon and its angels battled 8 but it did not prevail, neither was a place found for them any longer in heaven. 9 So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; . . .

Notice how, when religion's have killed, it's a direct result of all faith. When, however, atheism comes in power and kills, it's not atheism's tenets that cause it *rolls eyes*. This is as bad a hypocrisy as any religionist covering his coreligionist's crimes simply because they believe the same.

Atheism makes no ontological distinction between a human being and a cockroach beyond sentimentality and preference. We're both just a mass of material, and government (the human institution that most often inspires killing, whether religious or not) is all about keeping power. Power changes the preferences and sentimentality of men, and atheism gives it all the ethics it needs to justify slaughtering as many people as it needs.

"Death solves all problems." "No man. No problem." Both from Joesph Stalin.

I proprose that religion nor atheism reduce a persons life expectancy, however seeing as there are more religious people in the world than there are atheists, I would guess that more religious people have died in the past 100 years than atheists have.

Atheists do not go and burn down churches, religious zealots have burned down churches. Religious people have baombed abortion clinics, not one single atheist has. Atheists don't gather in mobs to persecute a person outside of the law. The religious dogma of the two main religions christianity and islam, tell to slay the non-believers. There is your proof.
And just a little side note, All your questions shows is a biased opinion and you are using this service as a platform to spread your opinion to others. That is the evil that ends up killing others. So you should be proud of yourself.

More people kill and and destroy in the name of God, not the name of Darwin or science.

Besides, how does a lack of belief kill anything when there's religions everywhere that teach that some are unfit to live?

Think: The Inquisitions, the Crusades, and more recently, the Radical Muslims blowing up people (WTC killed thousands all in the name of a religion and more are being killed by suicide bombers everyday). Proof enough for you? I can go on....

Oh! This is rather surprising... (PS I'm a Catholic)

Crusades for one took thousands of lives - both from Catholics and Muslims. There are also explorations and expansions for Christianity where they kill those who oppose their religion (both from side of pagans and Christians).

However, Atheism is very broad, since it does not have any specific community (to commune would probably contradict their principles).

If there is statistics to prove this, I would be very curious enough to explore it! However, if this is another Religion vs Atheism banter, I would be very dissapointed...

Wrong wrong wrong! No one kills for atheism. Stalin and Pol Pot killed for a misguided belief in communism. Atheism had nothing to do with it. They just supplanted Christianity (or whatever religion you wish) with another faith based, no proof, BS theory. And by the way Hitler was a Catholic so don't blame that one on us atheists.

If atheism killed more people in the last 100 years, how do you explain every conflict in the Middle East? Atheists only kill people in self-defense -- religious people kill people in the name of god. Go farther back. Ever heard of the Crusades?
