If the snake is in a SECURE cage that he cannot escape from it's fine, we had 22 snakes (from hatchling to 8ft in size) and 5 cats living in the same house. All the cages were secure, no problem.

Well if the snake is going to stay in a glass case then you're fine. But if you'ge gonna let the snake loose around the house it will chase your cat...i saw it happen on a trip to india...this stray cat was running from a snake...and the snake wasnt even that big...its was medium length and skinny. LOL the snake was fast but good thing cats are so agile. If freaked me out seeing that though lol. I couldnt sleep if i knew there was a snake in my house. Hey if your dad wants a snake and let's it slither around the house freely then you should get yourself a mongoose...they like to chase snakes lol.

I don't know if it's safe, but if it's a small snake you might have the worry of the cat killing it (grew up in the country seen this many times). But I would guess like everyone else is saying make sure it's kept in a tank with a secure lid.

yes it is ok to keep a cat and a snake in the same house.
your snake will be in its viv most of the time and the cat will be out most of the time so thay wont be together that much.
i used to keep snakes and i have a Yorkshire terrier i never had a prob with them.

it really depends on how big the snake is. if it is a small snake, like a children's python something about that size, the cat will be in very little danger.

As long as the snake is kept in a cage with a tight lid.So it won't get out,Then it should be alright.
