Use canola, corn or other vegetable oil. Olive oil has a flavor, and sour cream does different things to the cake.

You can use olive oil, or canola oil. I would substitute sour cream when a recipe calls for buttermilk or sour milk, not in place of the oil.

Olive oil is a healthy alternative to animal fat and most vegetable oils. Sour cream can be used if you are not worried about calories.

You can use the olive oil, if you have it, or if you have corn or vegetable oil they are also good. You can use butter or margarine (2/3 of stick) also. If you want to be really healthy use applesauce 1/3 cup or any fruit puree. Good luck and happy eating :)

greater virgin is from the 1st chilly pressing of the olives and has low acidity and is not bitter. After the 1st pressing the pressed olives are heated to force out residual oils. those oils are acidic and bitter and don't flavor very stable. dissimilar people who do in comparison to olive oil get that dislike by way of employing the secondary oils. try some severe high quality greater Virgin olive oil from Italy, Greece or Spain and you will see the version.

Usually the recipe is refering to vegetable oil. i have used olice oil in a pinch. You can also substitute butter or margarine. i have used applesauce as an oil substitute on some recipes but I don't believe sour cream would be an approcporaite substitute.

don't use olive oil for the cake.... it won't taste nice. use either regular cooking oil or sour cream (or even buttermilk)
