We have this same argument in the UK. Why should illegal immigrants be able to sneak in and then have the same rights as the lawful citizens? One example - welfare and pensions. Should people be able to illegally come here and automatically get welfare or a pension which has been paid for by all the lawful taxpayers?? I say no way! The same thing applies to health care. I don't want to be paying high taxes for people to come here and exploit the benefits that people have worked hard to pay for, and people have died to protect. The whole idea is ridiculous.

What part of illegal don't you understand.
I'm all for the migrant workers and every other person in this world not just from south of the boarder coming here legally. but with the flood gates open the way they are now we r doomed. This is a complete joke every time someone says secure the boarder they are labeled a racist. there is more
than one boarder and they all need to be fixed be it from Ireland, Russia, China, or Mexico. The way things r now we r getting fugitive felons and terrorist. Yes there are good people trying to come but they need to do it legally.
LoOK at what happened in N.J. this week several of the Fort Dix plotters were illegal.

Except for amnesty, the current immigration laws have all the features as the proposed one. So it is all about amnesty!
Which is wrong! I propose a Constitutional amendment that states:
"Unless otherwise restricted by law, the rights and duties in this Constitution applies only to United States Citizens and lawfully present aliens."
That will fix the whole mess!

Really... please show your statistic.. because the only support I have to any Immigration Reform is to send back undocumented immigrants to what country they came from, and tougher laws against undocumented immigrants- The US is the most lax on allowing immigrants into this country then any other country, we have many programs and laws set up to help people and allow people to come here legally to work, marry or go to school... so someone from a FREE country has no reason to come here undocumented...

Fricking illeagals get more government aid than I can... a white boy that has worked hard and payed into the system sence the age of 13... now disabled... fighting to get social security benifits for over 3 years. Our founding fathers were all "illegal immigrants" who took this nation away from the native American Indian through skulduggery, nefarious 'trades' and 'deals', and - when all that didn't work - wholesale massacres of entire Indian populations.
If it weren't for all those 'savage' Europeans who came over here and assumed squatters' rights to land that most native Indians considered sacred, NONE OF US WOULD EVEN BE HERE!!!
