Though stomach growling is commonly heard and associated with hunger and an absence of food in the stomach, it can occur at any time, on an empty or full stomach. Furthermore, growling doesn't only come from the stomach but, just as often, can be heard coming from the small intestines. Growling is more commonly associated with hunger because it is typically louder when the stomach and intestines are empty and so the organs' contents don't muffle the noise.

Abdominal sounds (bowel sounds) are made by the movement of the intestines as they push food through. Since the intestines are hollow, bowel sounds can echo throughout the abdomen much like the sounds heard from water-pipes.

The majority of the bowel sounds are harmless and simply indicate that the gastrointestinal tract is working. Abdominal sounds are evaluated by listening to the abdomen with a stethoscope
I think it would piss ME off more if I didn't have any stomach sounds...means your pipes aren't working!!

Your stomach growl, because it is a muscle, kind of, in the stomach there are gas and when the gas is pressed down (together with the food and the fluid) on its way to the intestines.......anyway it's like blowing in a straw in a glass of water, almost the same sound, hope you understand.....

Because your food hasnt had enough time to digest and send those signals to your brain that your not hungry anymore. Your tummy should only growl for like 10 minutes, if longer, you probably have gas. :P

Your stomach growling is stomach contractions. And the stomach contracts when empty, as well as when full and digesting.
