Should I use briquettes or coals?

I stack my charcoal briquets and use charcoal lighter fluid. You can use newspaper if you have a charcoal chimney. I always use a propane grill lighter to ignite it. Wait until the coals are gray and then spread them out even for cooking.

I would use briquettes because they will burn longer and hotter.
