You are only half sisters. Me and my sister are only half sisters as we have different dads, but we still class ourselves as real sisters.

You are sisters period. I have two daughters each have a different dad. My oldest daughter loves her sister and they have a very strong bond. My husband has a daughter that lives in another state and she is 19 years older than our daughter. They still love each other and don't let the half or step terms get in the way. My family is made up of halfs and steps but we just eliminated those terms completely. A family is blind to those terms when a house is filled with love.

I have 5 brothers and sisters and out of all of them only one has the same father as i do so technically that does make the other 4 my half brothers and sisters but we look at each other like half brothers and sisters because we have that bond. My grandmother told me as long as you have the same mother your sisters and brothers because you can always be sure thats your mother but not that that's your father.

I have an older sister and we have the same dad, but different Mums. She is effectively my half sister, but she has never been treated any different to my younger sister by me

I dont like the term half sister. If you share a parent and you are close to your sister, then she is just your sister. A half sibling that shares the same mother (but different fathers) is known as a uterine sibling, whereas one that shares the same father is known as an agnate sibling. I have a sister who has a different father to me, we are very close and I love her loads.

You all are sisters because you have the same mother.
In my opinion, even if your mothers were different it shouldn't make a difference; family is family. A sister is a sister!
