It's not supposed to stick out, no. But it will dissolve eventually. Actually after two weeks the incision should be completely 'knitted' - if a piece of suture material is hanging out it will hinder this happening. Just keep an eye on that spay site until that bit of suture material has gone - take cat back to the vet if the wound looks weepy or pus-y at all, inflamed or if a lump or swelling appears to be developing.

don't worry about it, the vet knows what they have done, although when my cat was done i had to take her back to have her stiches taken out (they were not dissolvable) make sure that there are no lumps where the spaying was done once the scar has healed, as my female cat was done Jan 2006 and a year later she had a lump come up and it turned out to be a Hernia which was caused by the abdomen wall not healing as it should off, which was down to the vets that done the neutaring.
but please don't get me wrong this probaly was just a one off..

No it's cool, thats just the thread that's holding your cat together.
After about 3-4 weeks you either take the cat to the vet to remove it, or snip & pull it out yourself (if your cat lets you).
Take her to the vet since you've never done it before.
I have 5 spayed cats and they all did fine after the surgery, the last 2 i had spayed, I was able to remove the thread myself.

Yep it's normal. Dissolvable stitches are kind of firm and stiff. It should be fine, especially if the animal is acting normal. Do not remove it. It is needed to make sure that the correct healing is taking place. It will dissolve when the body has healed. Good Luck.

Yes, it's normal.
It's the cut end of the thread they used to stitch her up. They try to get it all tucked in, but sometimes it sticks out.
It'll be fine.
If you want it gone, call the vet. It's been long enough, so they can take out the stitches, they don't have to dissolve

No I have had several cats spayed and this has never happened, you need to take her back to the vets and get them to put it right (without charge...!)
Glad your cat is recovering and not suffering!

i had the same problem as you almost five years ago if you leave it for another three weeks you will see it further out of the wound you should then be able to gentley pull it out without hurting your cat or causing any harm or distress,,,

it is the exposed stich, it will fall out soon, or you could 'pluck' it out if it has been two weeks
