I'm hoping for a red Bud #3.

Wont be a black #3 nor #8.
I vision in my crystal little ball a red chevy Budweiser #3 in 2008!
3 > HIS number from the Busch series
Red for Budweiser as his primary sponsor.
And who owns #3? RCR!!! A team owner who will give JR almost anything he wants since he is like a second son to Richard....the only thing JR maybe having a battle over is his own "soul searching" about using the #3. Just keep in mind, #3 was his number in Busch.

Ok, Jr just said tonite in his interview w/ Darrell Waltrip that he didn't want to drive the 3 until late in his career, (if ever) because it was his father's legacy.

He can't have the 8 (his g'father's legacy) b/c it belongs to DEI.

He'll take whatever number he's given, I'm sure... there was a mention (not from him directly) of the 33... but the same source had him signing w/RCR the day after the announcement, so I'm not so sure of it's reliability.

Though the thoughts of thids is a good thought even Junior said he does not want to run the #3 at this time.
Who ever he goes to may try to get or buy or whatever to get the #8 but with the way the politics at D E I were don't bet that anyone but D E I has the #8.

He has already said he will not drive the # 3 for some time to come even Childress said he isn't ready to see the # 3 back on the track but rumors have him driving a # 33 if he goes to RCR and that's close enough for now. I personally would love to see him in a black GM goodwrench sponsored car for special occasions.

This is just an opinino I think that he should but not until the end of his career like the last year he is oging to race as a tribute to his father because he wants to set his own path in racing and not take his fathers name because he woul dbe basing himself on his father and thats not what he wants to do and everyone would start comparing him to his dad and he is just his dad's son nothing more. Yes he is a racer but seriously Jr. will never be his dad. I think that he should find another ride or trade numbers wiht DEI and keep the #8 and keep Budweiser as his sponsor. That way DEI would have the #3 car like they always wanted and Jr could keep his current Budweiser campaign going and they could keep their number and he could set his own career in his #8 car.

I am not a Jr. fan so l really don't care if he drives the #3 or the #8. But what get me is that a lot of so-called "fans" think that DEI owns the #8 or that RCR owns the #3. No team or individual "owns" the numbers assigned to their cars. lt is solely decided by NASCAR.

Richard Childress said after Dale Sr died there would never be a black #3 on the track. I don't think that Jr would ever drive a black #3 but a red Budweiser #3 would be cool.

I think Dale Jr should drive is own number and let the #3 stay where it is in the hearts and minds of his and all NASCAR fans!!!

It doesn't matter what we think. Jr has already said, out of respect for his Father, he would not drive the # 3 car. He made that very clear at the press conference.

He should leave it be. His dad made 3 what it is and Jr. has made the 8 what it is. So no he should not drive it. Also out of respect for his dad.
