I hear their new album implies supporting the president is wrong. What encourages a good family values based christian rock like NiN to take such a sinful stance?

You're calling Trent Reznor "good family values based christian rock"??

ROTFLMAO!! That may be the most ridiculous statement ever written on this board! You've never actually listened to any album have you? I suggest you check on the song called "Heresy". Here's a line from the chorus..."Your god is dead, and no one cares, if there is a hell, I'll see you there!"

And for the record, Trent Reznor is a frickin' genius, not evil.

Huh?.....uh....you obviously dont understand where NIN is coming from or what they stand for. But to be honest, they're basically ripping off Ministry, who've been doing political stuff for YEARS and they kind of helped start the whole "industrial" sound here in the States. But NO NIN is not a satanic band as far as I know. Im not a big fan of theirs but ....your question escapes me.....the President IS wrong!!! The WAR is wrong! Dont you see that people who feel this way are NOT exactly goiong against some Christian "values"? I go to Mass every Sunday...(try to)...and I am a firm believer in Jesus and whatnot but I happen to have Left-wing convictions as well. WHY cant people uinderstand that GOD WANTS us to be PEACFUL and "protesting": or standing up for our convictions is NOT a SIINFUL thing???? ...(sigh....)I could go on but I wont because conservatives will always JUDGE the rest of us! ......casting stones .......and NIN is NOT a Christian band either......where did you get your info from dude?????

Wow, didnt know that not likeing the president was a sin, well im sure a little over half of america is now going to hell. NiN is not a christian band either.

Where in the bible does it say that we have to like the president, They didnt even have presidents in the the bible days, they had kings. By the way I am not an atheist, I do believe in God, and I dont think God really is a fan of killing mass numbers of people in wars over "possible weapons of mass destruction" that we never found. But since Bush toild us that God told him to do it then I guess we just automatically have to think its the truth, you kno, its not like satan is suppose to be full of trickery or anything so he couldnt have had a hand in it at all.....

First of all, NIN is the farthest from a christian band... but NIN is also not satanic. He mentions a lot about God in his lyrics, but nothing against him as far as i can tell. I am a christian, and i listen to NIN, the only music i do not listen to is satanic.

Also, I agree with Trent in his political views

First of all NIN is NOT a christian rock band! It's usually one man, TRENT REZNOR writing all the music & lyrics.

Second of all, it is not of the devil to be against your president. Bush is no good, according to my opinion. Am I of the devil now? It is not sinful to be opposed to any person, point of view, or idea.

Third of all, NIN always has adverse opinions on EVERYTHING

If you like Nine Inch Nails, then listen to them. What are you afraid will happen?

And to echo others, they are not a Christian band.

I found some lyrics. They don't sound evil to me. http://www.lyricstop.com/t/thehandthatfeeds-nineinchnails.html

And besides, we live in a democracy, with rights granted to the government by the people and for the people. Not supporting the powers-that-be in this country is not a "sinful stance". Read the Declaration of Independence. To me it is quite clear that our forefathers did not expect blind obedience any more than they were willing to give it.

You cannot make such a statement just because they have different views to the president and do not support his policies, there are many cases where Christians have to put the laws of God above and before those of man.

I do not support the President, He lies to the american people. He is supporting a war that never should have happened. I think that he and his cronies should be empeached. More power to any rock band who will send the message

a president is simply a figurehead of a larger organization, and can be wrong, with a system of checks and balances

to disagree with the Prez is not unpatriotic, it is democracy in action. we all need more eyes than our own, but GW surrounds himself with like minded yes men/women so he is largely out of touch as Rove wants him to stay that way, as great of a Puppet Master as he is

NiN - anything that doesn't match your own opinion does not make it "of the devil"

it just means another point of view of the same object we all see
