The way you worded your Question is a little ambiguous...by "dish", do you mean a prepared meal, or a certain type of food?
In terms of specific foods, I would guess that rice is the number-one most-consumed food type in the world. I don't have specific numbers, but I know it's consumed regularly by more than HALF of the world's population.
As for a prepared meal...that's a little tougher. You said "most KNOWN dish", as opposed to the most CONSUMED dish.
I can only imagine that most people have HEARD of things like pizza, hamburgers, or spaghetti; but that doesn't mean they eat it much.
