The rapist would go to heaven, and the atheist would go to hell.
Once you repent, you are forgiven, and God will never bring up your past. You may still have to pay on earth for the sins you committed. If the rapist accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, he will go to heaven.
If the atheist still believes that there is no God, why do you care where he goes. (But, it will be hell!)
And, by the way, I don't have to assume God, Heaven and hell are real... they are!

The ex-child rapist will go to heaven if he truly repented and
accepted Jesus as the son of God and his personal Savior.

The first, who has done good deeds will find there is an afterlife and have the opportunity to learn more than he did here, such as, there is a God.
The second, who "found Christ" and hopefully repented and paid restitiution will find himself in the same vestibule.
Eternal Progression is the name of the Game!

The atheist would go to Hell. Good deeds don't send you to Heaven. Faith does. If the child rapist repented and got baptized and received the Holy Ghost, then by the Bible he will be raised up with the other saints. If criminals couldn't be forgiven, if any of us couldn't be forgiven, then Jesus never would have had to die on the cross. But he did, so that we can be. Besides, to God, all sins are the same.

Acording to Dante, they doth go to hell, but the rapist goes to a deeper part of hell, and the athiest goes to a higher part of hell that's really not so bad. Dante really admired the poet Virgel, but in his book, Virgel was in hell because he was never told about God and Jesus and therefore wasn't saved, but since he was a good sole, he was only in the highest level of hell.

Assuming that everything in the Bible is correct, I think you know the answer to that question. It's pretty messed up, isn't it? I mean, I'm a Christian and I can't make sense of it. However, it's not up to me, and God's ways aren't the same as mine. I couldn't bring myself to love that former child molester as much as God would, nor would I be able to curse the atheist.

Well, thankfully God doesn't judge us until it is all over. Also thankfully, Christ died for our sins and we have but to accept Him and His saving grace in order to reach Heaven.
