have found yourself in a conversation, that you did not initiate, about God or religious beliefs and found yourselves being condemned for them and chided for trying to convert or convict without the intent to do so whatsoever?

Not too many, but I also feel I do not share the gospel nearly enough. You hear about people everyday who try to cut down Christians and there beliefs about the Lord. If I do not believe in something, I do not spend my time worrying about it. Yet, those who deny the existance of God and His Son sure spend alot of time / energy on the subject in an attempt to disprove the validity of the scripture.

God bless!

Hi, I found that this usually happens when someone knows or suspects me to be a believer and it is not long before they find a way to steer the conversation round to having a go at me and religion.
I try to keep in mind that this is mostly due to them having a deep rooted anger and confusion and so I can handle it most of the times.

Yep.

My brother (the idiot) did this. He thought it would be a good idea to get hammered and get behind the wheel. After the D.U.I. with a B.A.C. of .14, he complained and whined about how God let him make such a bad mistake. Whiny-whine-whine later, he attacked me for being a Bible-thumper and thinking I'm better than him. (Well, smarter, anyway - I never drove drunk, lost my license for a year, or had to spend a month in jail.) Whatever.

But the Bible says we should expect it. I've had similar experiences when other people want to vent about their problems to me - they bring up God, then blame me!

How many of us haven't? The Bible tells us that we will be persecuted. It has happened throughout the ages. We can't help feeling the need and the urgency to get the truth out before it's too late. I guess sometimes all you can do is pray.

A lot. My intentions have been mistaken many times with non-Christians. Even Christians in this forum have done it to me, though, despite the fact that I name the name of Christ. I expect persecution from non-believers. Not my own brothers and sisters.

Yes it has happened many times to me- the Bible said that it would. We are only responsible for sharing the gospel and praying people accept it. We are not responsible if they do not respond. Jesus told His disciples if they enter a town and are not accepted, to shake the dust from their feet and more on.

yeah. there was a young girl that tried to convince me that buddha and hindu and all of the asian religions were valid religions that could get you to heaven/nervona or what ever. i told her, okay, if your right and i'm wrong, worst that that can happen is that i have to do this life over again. if im right and your wrong, then your going to hell. are you willing to take that chance? wasnt a good argument, but i sure stumped her.

That describes every day here in R&S. If we answer a question we get accused of trying to convert.

Yes, that's happened to me. I just have to scrape the dust off my shoe's and keep going. I have to learn to let go, and let God.
