If someone truly believed there is no God then they wouldn't be so insistent, and argue that He doesn't exist. I think they (atheists) know there is a God, they just don't want to believe there is.

I am a Christian. I welcome the "debates" as opportunity to share my views. We are still in a country that still allows dissemination of a religious viewpoint, so I seize the time.

I like reading these opposing views because they help me understand how and why people think about certain subjects. Their questions and answers help me analyze my own arguments better so I can address real concerns. They helped me jettison canned answers that have not been not helping people with real questions. Jesus did not always address the same problems with the same answers.

When someone says that the Christians never give a rational argument for God, or has another question that has been answered thousands of times, then that is yet another person to inform.

There is a lot bashing on both sides, and this does not help either side's cause! I want to be able to defend my position against those who argue purely out of spite or malice. I try not to respond in kind, but with simple words and illustrations make my points clear.

I want the opportunity to defend our beliefs from those who would lump us with people whom we don't acknowledge represent us. To point to a priest who molests children does no good to anyone's argument, neither does it help for us to point to Stalin as the best example of atheism. Isolated bad apples do not address real concerns.

I don't like to argue, I'll spread the word, and hope that people will listen.

If I am right, which I am, I gain everything. If I am wrong, which I am not, I lose nothing. I will have lived my life a good person, following Jesus' 2 greatest commandments.

1. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul and with all your mind.

2. Love your neighbor as yourself.

What about these 2 Commandments makes a bad person, one tells you to love God, the other tells you to love people.

If an aethiest is right, he gains nothing. If an aethiest is wrong, he loses everything.

The Abrahamic Religions do not preach hate and war, people who misinterperate the religious books to meet their own needs and desires preach that.

I've been saying that for a while now. It gets no where. In particular this day and age. Everyone's ego has gotten out hand. All these book and debates on Tv. We've become too hostile. This is why peace has such a hard time existing. The people who say they want it, have the hardest time finding it. On both sides. I know my faith and my belifes and thats all that I need to know. Peace!!!

Because when you know the truth that there is a God then those who do not know the truth will oppose to try and influence others their way,and their way is all about power and selfishness, and recognition, and they will hopefully someday give up self, and find the truth which is sealed with God.

Atheist position is not sealed they still have opportunity to find the truth that does seal************God.

Well worth it.

Given the harm that Christianity and other religions are doing in the world, it is well worth to help people break free of that superstitious belief.

I'm glad that you recognize the human right to belief and opinion. However, that right is diminished if people don't exchange ideas and discuss those beliefs. How much choice do you really have if you are only exposed to one belief?

Believers in God like to know the beliefs of other non-believers and vice versa. It's fun to learn perspectives of someone other than your own.

I haven't sealed my position. If any theist has a logical, rational argument for their god I'd be happy to consider it. And there are plenty of people who have adopted, given up or changed religion.

But each hasn't sealed their positions. Chrisitans claim god gave them free will, so of course they can choose reason and logic over superstitious nonsense.
