Second best is still extremely good, that means you come second in something. If I was the world's second best mathematician, or the world's second best artist, I'd still be a hundred times better than I am now.

No, because my parents raised me to realize that I will not always be first and foremost in everything and that there is no shame in not being first all the time. I have value as a human being no matter where I end up.

Yes, I have 2 sisters one older and one younger...In the middle I always felt left out and second best.

The world today says if your suppose to strive to be #1 (don't worry how you get there).Not everyone will be #1.Someone will be #100 in a race of 100.At least #100 tried.

*sigh* actually. yet whats up....... existence isn't or should not be a contest. whilst this occurs I in basic terms tell myself that that's what it is...... and that i will't make it what it wasn't meant to be. i will in elementary terms be me...... it is all i've got ever prevalent a thank you to be. You should look at it that way as well. Nobody is better at being you than you.
