There is a smart way of tanning. It has its benefits if done properly. First start off slow 6-8 minutes and gradually increase your time every 2-3 sessions by 2 minutes. Getting a tan does NOT cause cancer. Over exposing your skin (sunburning) breaks down your skin cells and kills off melanin which is your skins defense. Building up your defenses by gradually getting a tan will decrease the chance of you getting a sun burn and damaging your skin. UVA/B rays will increase the production of melanin and vitamin D. Goggles are required by law(FDA) if you don't wear them the rays indoor or out can cause cornea burns, night vision loss etc. You can get disposable eye protection (winkees) that are a sticker shaped like a cone so there wont be a line however if you do use the goggles flip them upside down every other tan session so the bar at times will be lower on your nose or between the brows. You can also use a bronzer in the areas around the eyes. Apply lotion everywhere and in a circular motion. You can tan with or without clothing. NEVER dry tan. Always use a lotion dry skin cells are dead and will burn. Always moisturize after wards. Keeping your skin moist will pro long the tan as well as keep your skin from aging as quickly if you tan or not.

It all depends on the type of goggles you get. You can get the ones that are very small and are not connected in the middle. You just place them over your eyes after you lie down. I find these work best for me.
Lotions are great, I would recommend using one to help you accelerate the tanning process. Don't worry if you miss a spot or it's uneven, these lotions are not like sunless tanners. Your tan will still look great.
As far as going in naked or wearing some clothing it's all about personal choice but be careful you don't burn delicate areas on your body. I personally would not go naked your first time. I would go the first time and see how your skin reacts to the lights then you can better decide. A accidental sunburn on your back or legs can hurt but a sunburn on a sensitive part of your body hurts a lot more....I know from experience.
And lastly just go and enjoy the experience ;)

no the goggles dont give u a tan line they just protect ur eyes, yes its a good idea to put the lotion all over and it will not come out uneven and its totally up to u what u wear. If u want to go in the buff so u dont get tan lines go buff but u can wear ur swim suit or just ur underwear. also since its ur first time dont stay in there too long or u might get burnt.

If this is your first time, go in for a short amount of time. Like 10 mins. Dont go for the full 20-30 they tell you. The goggles shouldnt give you any lines, and I never used any lotion. Just went in for 10 mins a time for the first week, then more time the next to gradually build the tan and not burn. And it is your choice to wear a suit or not.

I recommend the lotions after you establish a base tan. Start slow and build up the time you go in.
You can increase the time your in by a minute or two each time you go - but use the last time as your basis for increasing or not.
If you were red, maybe stay at the same time for 1 or 2 more times.
I made the mistake of burning my backside so be careful. Think about it - your rear isn't out in the direct sun that often. As others have mentioned you can wear your undergarments to protect sensitive areas. If you start slow and build up the time it should not be an issue.

The goggles won't give you a tan line, but you're going to end up looking like a racoon if you wear them; the immediate area around your eyes, like your eyelids, will be totally white and the rest of your face will be tan, it looks ridiculous.. Yes, you're supposed to wear them for "protection" but if you're really worried about protection, you shouldn't tan.
Don't worry about putting the lotion on evenly, it won't make your tan uneven. I put it on my stomach, arms, legs, shoulders, face, & neck.
Wear whatever you feel comfortable in there. If you don't want tan lines, don't wear anything. Don't worry, no one will walk in on you. :-)

DO NOT PUT ANY TAN ENHANCER ON!! YOU will burn.
yes, you will get a goggle tan, but, wears these to protect your eyes from harm.
it is your choice to go bare or to have a swimsuit tan, thong whatever. your first time, only go about 10 minutes and see how you do. i tan easily, but, tanning beds get hot and the lights are directly on you at all times. you will probably burn if you stay for longer that 10 minutes.

dont worry about a goggle tan line, you should want to keep ur eyesight rather than have tan eyelids :\ .....the lotion should be put everywhere and rubbed in well or you'll get splotches and you dont want that ....take all your clothes off, no ones looking :) ...unless you wanna see if it works keep a thong on or put a cute sticker on your body for a tan line

your best bet is to buy the little plastic "winkease" eye protectors, they won`t give u the goggle-type white mark across the bridge of your nose...yep, put the lotion on all exposed skin, doesn`t really matter if it`s exactly even or not, u won`t tan that unevenly to notice it, unless u just forget to put some altogether on one place or other...wear what u want, i prefer nude as i don`t want tan lines!!! happy tanning!!!

yes you do have funny tan lines (trust me!) the lotion tan is wonderful, it helps those tan lines! The tan won't be uneven one part will look darker than the other! Depending on where you go depends if you take off your clothes or not!
