would you think about the Church or proffessing Christians as a whole if we just let it go and no longer bugged you, or "rejected" you, or counseled you on life, love, happiness and a relationship with Jesus. Also would society improve or degrade?

I'm sorry I've alienated so many of you(not that you weren't already) with my use of outcast. I probably should have put quotations around the word to emphasize the point that many people view themselves as outcasts. If you differ that is fine. I apologize for my insensitivity.

Well, you're not off to much of a great start by putting all of us under the "relevant outcasts" category.

Maybe society would improve if some of you holy rollers got off your high horse.

Outcasts.. very nice. I'm glad I put more emphasis on the secular side of life as I would never be called an outcast there.

Not all christians proselytize and I know that because I am married to one; he does not try in the least to lead me back to christianity as he respects my ability to know what is best for myself.

I think it would improve society as then perhaps without the 'push' people would actually get along a little better.

I'm sorry, after read the question and some of the answers,I feel the need to respond.

They may think it's better, but then they should treat us, Christians, with the same respect and a lot of the answers here do the exact opposite. you want respect, you what to live your and have nothing to do with Christians; fine, but just remember that what goes around comes around. Respect is earned not handed to you on a silver platter like some delicacy. You what to be left alone, then quit flaunting your beliefs on us. We don't control your life and many of us don't bother trying because it's not ours to control. So quit trashing our beliefs and try to be a little more understanding before you "critique" and we'll do the same to you.

Remember the golden rule.

I think the world would be a much happier place. Think about it, Christians intentions are good but their hearts are in the wrong place. What is meant to be helpful and good turn out to be bad. People are often rather turned off by Christianity because they think that their way of thinking is the only one that is right. They automatically doom anyone to hell who does not believe the way they do.....where's the love in that.

I'm former hardcore Christian. I couldn't stand being constantly judged, or worrying about making someone angry because I was forced by doctrine, the church, and my desire to share the gospel. Everyone held you to higher standards and if you did one thing wrong (just for the sake that you're human) you were criticized for it from BOTH sides. Plus I couldn't allow myself to believe that good humanitarian people who did more good than most christians I knew were going to hell because they didn't believe in Jesus. Also I think that man creates religions to explain things that we do not know. Anyhow enough rambling, if Christians were not mean and pigheaded there wouldn't be much of a problem.

If we want your help, we'll ask you, but for the most part just leave us alone.

I think Jesus hates the church, Jesus said that it is easier for a poor man to go to heaven then it will ever be for a rich man, the church and ots leaders are all stinking rich, especially in America. What is the church saying about war for oil? What has the church said about capitalism and rising poverty everywhere including America and Europe? Sweet ******** **. when the church changes its ways there will be no more atheists, most atheists reject the church and its cruelty, not god really. Most atheists are not evil people, infact in parliament they are all born again cristians! I know many atheists they just do not want to be associated with these cults that claim to represent religion, Jesus and god. It makes me vomit to see Blair and Prescott in church, and even if the highest representative of the church of england (Not the queen, that is just a joke really) is now against the war he is quite happy to celebrate mass with a man that refuses to apologise for slavery. It is a joke and people dont want to be associated and dont bother realising that you need not belong to any of these sects. the queen the head of the anglican church...comon

I believe that Christians, Muslims, homosexuals, murderers, and other outcasts sure could use a little counseling. No, sorry, I meant a lot.
I sure don't want any relationship with someone who was executed two thousand years ago. There's not much left of him to have a relationship with.

It's a start, but you miss the serious stuff: the interference in politics and the legal system; the constant pressure for groups of various kinds to not do this, that or the other; the obsession with the way other interact with sex. These affect us all, and many of us don't like theists setting the moral agenda for us - especially when their morality is so messed up by their religious injunctions.

Religionists are LOUSY moral monitors: they override true morality with a received one full of ancient nonsense.

Society always does better when people with strong convictions like your's are put forth without fear. It gives as a basis of what not to judge other people on and how to make a point by using a chainsaw rather than a knife. I really think you are a great fisher of men since you know what bait to use to get them to rise. I'd name a kid after you if I ever wanted to be mean to them and call them A$$hole!

I've been called a lot of things in my life, but never have I been called an outcast. I almost like it. If I was religious, would this be the same as a shunning?

YAY! No more people calling me a demon, no more people telling me I'm going to hell because I like cock, no more people trying to huddle me in a corner as they speak in "tongues" (more like a retarded raspberry to me) trying to "exorcize" me, no more trying to rip me from my shrines late at night to thrust me in front of a cross and try to get me to pray! ^^ The world really IS a better place!

Yeah, it would be like that, people would be more open and actually be forced to FIND a religion instead of just inheriting Christianity from their dead-beat parents, morals would be at an all-time high, things wouldn't be impossible anymore, and everyone would be SO much happier without the overbearing annoyance of Fundamental Christians shoving their religion on people. Get over it, shed tears if you must, and move on.

(P.S. The guy above me is an example of such people. So is the asker.)
