I believe in a God, I just don't believe in religions. The world is far too amazing to be just a mistake of The Universe. Though religions are created by man, just to answer unresolved questions; and most of the time with those answers come rules of living that don't make much sense. My "motto" for being a "decent" and "moral" person even if your are not a religious one is: Just be good to others.

Atheist, because I failed to see truth in the Bible and the more I read it, the more it sounded like God was anything but loving that Christians claims He is. I also can't help wonder if religion in general is just used to control the masses. What easier way is there then to say some magically man in the sky knows all the answers we don't know, fear of Hell, and a reward for doing good? Not to mention lack of proof and the flawed arguments that claims to be proof for God.

I'm not the athiest, I'm just athier than you are.

I'm an atheist because believing in God makes as much sense as believing in Santa. Just because I want presents at Christmas doesn't mean I should continue to believe in Santa.

I believe that God created all things for certain purposes, and has a plan for everyone to obey and love him from a heart of free will.
I know Jesus Christ is the only son of the holy father and that he was born to the virgin Mary and that he is the mediator between God and man,, i believe that God wants all men to love and accept his grace and forgiveness, I,m convinced that God is the answer for all the worldly problems. if all nations on earth were saved and forgiven by God that the earth would be a wonderful heavenly like place,,no crime , no hate, no malice, no strife, just goodness and well being...i believe and hope all things for that God has promised ,.. he is a loving all just creator who know what he is doing to the letter...man cannot know the mind of God because his ways are not man ways and his thoughts are not man thoughts, lets face it the creator has the right to mold the creations to his likings. and we might not understand his way of doing and making things but he knows best and has the right to decide all things ...

I am an atheist.

I believe as I do because I am a scientist. I have a B.S. in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology and it is part of my nature as a scientist to question things. I cannot rely on faith for answers.

I also have difficulty accepting that religion is the cause of so much suffering in the world. People killing each other over whose imaginary friend is better. How many wars have been fought over differences in scientific opinion? ZERO.

I am an atheist because at the age of 16 I finally realized that god is imaginary and that praying to it was a complete waste of time and calories.

Nice answers Christians:
"I love God because I have Jesus in my heart" (that's a circular argument)
"there is too much proof that God exists so I believe"

I like the atheist's answer. He/she sees no reason to need to believe. I mean it's not like atheists need reasons NOT to believe. The onus is on the Christians to argue for the existence of a deity, not on the atheists to argue for the non-existence of one.

Agnostic

Because I can't "prove" God doesn't exist. Or any other supernatural being for that matter.

However, to convince me would take evidence, I have seen none to date that would affiliate me with any religion

As Gregory Bateson said "Spirituality is everyone's, Religion is entertainment"

I'm an atheist because there is no empirical evidence that would indicate the existence of a divine entity. If there is no evidence, I don't believe in something.

I'm an atheist because I am one. It just seemed like the right choice for me. I don't see a reason to be religious if I'm happy and I'm leading a good life and have people who love and care about me. ^_^
