It's very common to have aches and pains in the sacro iliac, which I assume you are asking about. The joints in that area do so much work to keep our bodies functioning. If you stand a lot at work it can cause a strain to the area. The pain may become worse and 'sharp' in nature during activities such as sitting, bending, lifting, standing up from a seated position, or lifting the knee up to the chest during stair climbing.

Rest from the aggravating activities is essential during an acute episode of pain. Once a position is found that relieves the pain, then this should be maintained as much as possible during the first 24 hours. Over the counter analgesic medication normally brings some relief of symptoms. In more chronic cases pain relief is possible with a TENS unit (a battery powered device that 'blocks' pain signals by introducing a direct current to the body). There also support belts you can wear for this area.

A chiropractor or physical therapist can help with this problem. I've enclosed a link where you can find a chiropractor in your area.

Soaking in a hot bath with 2c. of dissolved Epsom salts will help the pain and relax the muscles around this area.

not trying to down grade your problem...but the fact that you can actually feel pain in your left iliac is highly unlikely. If you are experiencing pain in the left side of your chest where your left iliac would be you should contact a doctor. Any chest pain should be reportedly immediately to your doctor, so they can rule out any serious health problems.
