By the way, how do i log in superuser on ubuntu 7.04? please! I need to log on supoeruser

When you type su you are just switching user so if you are the only user on your machine you would type your user password, if you are the only user on the machine that would be it & you just get user access, if there are several users, each would have a different account and password & you would use this to change user only.

To get admin access on ubuntu you would type sudo then when asked for a password you would type the password for the user you created when you did the initial install of ubuntu, the ubuntu root account is locked by default and sudo only gives you limited admin access, this is a bit too much like windows, I think it is possible to create a root account during the initial install of ubuntu though.

su simply means switch users.. so if you are switching to root use the root password.

It is the same password as the one that you use to login to your system as an ADMIN.
