Could be the pan (darker pans seem to even out heat better) or it could be the position of the rack in the oven. I bake mine in the center of the oven. I have found that placing the muffin pan on another rack and sitting on a sheet pan causes more indirect heat to flow around the pan for more even cooking.

Ifyou are using a dark colored cookie sheet or a tin foil lined pan then that is the problem. If not then it is possible the temp isn't registering right. My oven is like this so I cook the cookies a little less time than it states so the bottoms don't burn and then I place it on broil to get the tops the color I want them.

I have the solution.......

To prevent the bottom from browning more than the top use parchment paper. You find it in the plastic wrap, foil section at the grocery store. Cut to fit the size of the pan and place biscutis in pan. Works great for cookies, cinnamon rolls, etc.
Enjoy your biscuits!

Possibly you have your pan too low in the oven, move it to the middle rack position and see if this helps.

This could be a couple things, you are putting the oven to high on temp or the rack is sitting to low.
