I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!

Nice to meet you...

PS be careful on Y!A there are many Anti-Mormons and people who just come here to heckle other people and their beliefs.

I am one.

There's probably about an easy 20 of us active on yahoo answers, and throw in there about 40 more of us fellow Mormons who only read the responses.

I doubt that the majority of us here are in a bishopric or stake presidency. I'd venture we got a good age mix, with some leaning towards the younger side. So expect some Young Mens', Young Womens', Elder's Quorum, and Relief Society members here, instead of High Priests. The upper end of Primary might be here, but doubtful.

Guys who are in the High Priests group would probably be more busy with Church callings and assignments than with answering random questions from Yahoo.

That sound about right for your guess of the Mormon slice of the demographics here?

Yes, Latter Day Saints and Mormons are the same people. We are not a cult, and you will be excommunicated for practicing polygamy. They are serving God, and may be very, very far from home. "Elder" is a title given to the missionaries, and is also an indicatior of someone in the Church who holds the Melchizedek Priesthood. I strongly recommend talking to them, they will be respectful of you, and will not force anything on you. Missionaries will only ask or challenge you to do something, and it is still your choice. Once again, don't worry about them being cultists, they are not. Treat them well, and God will bless you for it.

I was raised Mormon, but I left the church as a teenager, so I don't really count.

I do believe there are a fair amount, however, because whenever someone asks a doctrinal question, a lot of LDS folks answer.

Good luck finding your answer ;)

Yep. oh, and I really like it that so many people answered no, they didn't read the fine print!! Seriously though, although there are quite a few LDS bashers here, most people are rather nice. The not nice ones, you don't pay attention to them.

I'm a Saint, but not LDS, not Mormon.

The Bible calls all real genuine Christians, Saints.
