We do have many affiliate radio stations that broadcast Catholic programming from either EWTN or Ave Maria Radio. Much of the content from both is also available on the Internet.

My thoughts would be that the Vatican hasn't bothered to do it because they believe that the churches and the web site are doing fine, or they don't think they can make it financially self sustaining.

In this country though, I would recommend a cable TV station that is affiliated with Notre Dame or some other prominent Catholic university. That would have further reach in my opinion. The Latter Day Saints are doing that with the KBYU cable channel on the various paid networks such as Cox Communications and Time Warner.

I think because there are only a small number of catholics here in the US.
