GPA/GWA equivalents?

A school i want to apply in has a 2.80 grade average requirement... what is that equal to in percent?

If it's out of a 4-point scale (and that's standard), the percentage would be 2.8/4, or 70%. GPA is about the letter grades though; that is, there is no difference between a B+ and a B.
