Hi there,the west highland terrier better known as the westie is from the west coast of scotland but in the highlands,
thats where i stay woop woop its the best!!!!!!!!

The Romans imported them as a fresh food supply,most of them escaped by jumping Hadrains Wall into Scotland . At first
they were nomadic they finally settled in the
Western Highlands . They became hunted by the Highlanders when it was found that they made excellent slippers, black left,white
right .Bonny Prince Charlie made it illegal to hunt them because it was a West Island Terrier that barked and awakened him from his slumbers when English were approaching, he made good his escape , From that day the dogs came under Royal Protection till one bit The Queen Mother, they were banished and the Welsh Corgis took over
