I suggest taking Eddy to the VET!!! At his age he could have numerous problems and perhaps it is time for him to move on. If he is throwing up all the time he can begin to dehydrate and that can be a painful demise. I am sure after having Eddy for 15 years you do NOT want him to suffer. So spring for a few bucks and see what is truly wrong with him so you don't live with the guilt of knowing you may have let him suffer! Good luck hon this is not an easy journey!!

As people have said, please do take this cat to a vet. Vets cannot force you to put an animal to sleep, nor will they try - it can only be done with your permission. It will be your decision.
Look it may be that this illness, whatever it is, is treatable. Don't assume the end has come! Whatever the problem is though, it will only get worse without attention and then you really will have a problem.
At least find out what is wrong with the cat before worrying about making decisions. At the very least, the cat can receive treatment to make him more comfortable.

First of all it sounds like your cat needs medical attention and not Internet solutions. Please take him to the vet as soon as possible. He may need a lighter diet, pureed food. Or... and this is the worse part, he may need to be put to sleep.
I have taken 2 cats to be put down. I'm not going to tell you it is easy, it's not. It's the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life, but in their case, it was the kindest thing I have ever done for them. The one had tongue cancer and the other was suffocating because of her lungs.
You have given you cat 15 years of love and good life. Be kind to it up to the end and if it means having to let go, then so be it. Keeping it around and suffering is only being selfish on our part. Then again, it might be a stomach virus and something that is treatable. GO TO THE VET.

First, I'd take him to the vet.
My sister has cats (I'm allergic) and was told that she should NEVER feed her cats out of plastic bowls. Replace all your plastic bowls with either ceramic or metal.
You may want to change your cat food, too. My sister was feeding her cats Iams hairball formula, but the vet told her that those foods could cause her cats to develop this problem over time. She had to feed her cats a cat food that was prescription and only obtainable through the vet for several months. Talk with the sales people at your local pet store (not WalMart or the supermarket) and find out what they suggest.
Good luck!

Have an exam and a conversation with your vet. Older cats often develop treatable conditions that appear like 'the end is coming' (such as vomiting, weight loss, lethargy etc) but a proper diagnosis is important, and might surprise you! Sometimes it's a cancer or kidney failure, but equally likely is hyperthyroidism, acute onset food sensitivity, and several other conditions that are very easily treatable, giving your cat more happy years of healthy living.
Please, get a positive diagnosis on the problem before you decide.

My two cats used to throw up their food all the time. I put them on Science Diet Sensitive Stomach food and it made a huge difference. If the vet says he is not sick, try changing his food.

only a vet can answer this question properly.. looking for cyber docs to help you is a sure way to kill the pet..
it might be something simple like an diminished ability to dissolve hair balls or something far for serious.. don't wait and don't be afraid..the uncertainty is always worst than the news
