1. SAM LANGFORD- basically a 160 pounder who knocked out heavyweights. The most avoided fighter in history, bar none.
2. HARRY GREB- even Ray Robinson's record pales compared to Greb's. He faced and beat the following middleweight champions: Mickey Walker, Johnny Wilson(3 times), Mike O'Dowd, Al McCoy(twice), George Chip(twice), Eddie McGoorty, Tiger Flowers(won once and fought two more closely contested fights. Greb was well past prime for all 3 bouts). He also beat hall of famer and uncrowned middleweight champ Mike Gibbons as well as top contenders like tough Jeff Smith and Leo Houck(he beat both numerous times).
Greb fought and beat these Light heavy champs: Tommy Loughran(4 times), Maxie Rosenbloom, Mike McTigue(twice), Battling Levinsky(6 times), Jack Dillon(twice). He also beat hall of famer Tommy Gibbons(twice). He fought the much avoided and heavier hall of famer Kid Norfolk twice. Opinions are divided as to who won the first fight(most newspapers I've read favor Greb) and their second bout ended in a DQ. When he was getting old Greb still had enough to beat hot young Jimmy Slattery.
Heavyweights Greb beat: Gene Tunney(won once, drew once, lost once controversially and lost twice once he began to age and Tunney hit his prime and became too big to handle). Gunboat Smith(twice), Billy Miske(twice, though outweighed by 24 lbs), Big Bill Brennan(thrashed him every time they fought. 5 times if I recall), Charley Weinert, Dempsey Conqueror Willie Meehan(several thrashings).
This is just the tip of the iceberg. Check out his record for the innumerable top contenders he thrashed over his long career. Phenominal.
3. RAY ROBINSON- no need to rehash. The perfect fighting machine. Fluid skills, explosive power, iron chin, great legs, great stamina, knew every punch in the book. If he had one flaw it's that he liked to brawl when he could have won easier by boxing(see vs. middleweights).
4. HENRY ARMSTRONG- 3 division titlist. Would have been 4 if he wasn't ripped off vs. Ceferino Garcia. Astounding career.
5. ROBERTO DURAN- Wiped out a tough lightweight division, then went up and plowed through several excellent welter champs and even a middleweight titlist. Could do it all. Maybe the greatest modern warrior.
6. MUHAMMAD ALI- Louis Armstrong said it best: "If you have to ask, you'll never know!"
7. EZZARD CHARLES- Still can't figure out why people rate Archie Moore, whom he beat 3 times, ahead of him. Beat Moore's conqueror Charley Burley(twice). Beat hall of famers Jimmy Bivins(4 times), Lloyd Marshall(3 times), Jose Basora, Bob Satterfield and champions Joey Maxim(5 times), Anton Christoforidis, Gus Lesnevich. He beat a faded but still dangerous Joe Louis, Jersey Joe Walcott(twice) and excellent heavyweight contenders like the feared Elmer "Violent" Ray, Lee Oma and Rex Layne(twice). That he gave Rocky Marciano two tough fights when well past his best is further testament to his greatness.
8. BENNY LEONARD- Could possibly be higher. His record is second only to Greb's. Beat hall of fame champions in Johnny Dundee(4 times), Freddie Welsh(twice), Willie Ritchie, Johnny Kilbane, tough Rocky Kansas(4 times), great Welter champ Jack Britton(twice and lost once by controversial DQ). He beat hall of famer Lew Tendler, a tricky southpaw and uncrowned champ, twice as well as top contenders Richie Mitchell(twice), Ever Hammer(twice), Joe Welling(twice), Joe Mandot(twice), Charlie White and too many others to list.
9. BOB FITZSIMMONS- triple division champ. Probably the dominant p4p fighter at the turn of the century.
10. JOE GANS- look at his record. Incredible.
11. WILLIE PEP- once went 135-1.
12. JIMMY McLARNIN- fought 16 world champs(beat 14 of them) in an era of only 8 weight divisions and 1 champ per division. His record reads like a hall of fame roster.
13. JIMMY WILDE- Gene Tunney called him the greatest fighter he'd ever seen. His record is amazing. A little killer.
14. EDER JOFRE- pretty near flawless.
15. JACK JOHNSON- the record speaks for itself. Stood out in an era of great fighters, and not just for his bombast.
16. ARCHIE MOORE- the record speaks.
17. SANDY SADDLER- see above
18. PERNELL WHITAKER- made hall of fame fighters look silly.
19. TONY CANZONERI- record. So many greats he beat.
20. GEORGE DIXON- the first black world champion and multi-division titlist. Dominant.
Strong cases can also be made for Joe Louis, Barney Ross, Barbados Joe Walcott, Mickey Walker, Ray Leonard and Carlos Monzon.

Great question Brent! This is definetly not easy but here goes: I'm sorry but I had to name 25.
1. Henry Armstrong. Nobody eve will accomplish what he did and a tremendous puncher for his size/
2. Sugar Ray Robinson: Many rank his as the best of all time and with very good reason as he could do it all.
3. Harry Greb: Fought close to 300 fights and once beat Gene Tunney. Tough as nails without a doubt.
4. Roberto Duran: Hands of Stone was a good name for him especially at lightweight. Won multiple titles.
5. Willie Pep: Just look at his record of 230 wins and only 11 losses. Possibly the greatest defensive fighter ever.
6. Eder Jofre: Former featherweight and bantamweight champion with great skills, tenacity, ane fierce will to win.
7. Stanley Ketchel: One of the most dangerous fighters ever with dynamite in his fists. Could hit like a mule!
8. Ricardo Lopez: This is one of the most complete fighters ever and never lost a fight. Perfect fighter if there ever was!
9. Sugar Ray Leonard: Tremendous overall boxer/puncher with great charisma. Fought and beat many great fighters.
10. Aaron Pryor: A very feared fighter who feared nobody in the ring. A nonstop punching machine with an iron jaw!
11. Khaosai Galaxy: The Thai Tyson as he was called was a very aggressive fighter. 50 wins and only 1 loss!
12. Jimmy Wilde: The Mighty Atom with a career record of 131 wins 3 losses and 99 kayo's. Where did it come from?
13. Archie Moore: The Ol' Mongoose had more knockouts than anyone and held the title about 10 years.
14. Rocky Marciano: Only undefeated heavyweight champ. Rocky feared nobody and simply refused to lose.
15. Sandy Saddler: Easisly one of the greatest featherweights with tremendous power. Well known for beating the great Willie Pep several times.
16. Salvador Sanchez: Tremendous overall fighter with an iron chin too. One of the most complete fighters ever.
17. Pernell Whitaker: Sweet Pea was a dazzling fighter with tremendous boxing skill. Possibly the greatest southpaw.
18. Thomas Hearns: The Hitman is a great name for him. Great boxer with tremendous power. Multiple champion.
19. Carlos Monzon: Great middleweight champion that didn't lose a fight over his last 9 years. Great boxer with an iron jaw.
20. Marvin Hagler Marvelous Marvin could do it all. Very fierce fighter and one of the greatest middleweight champs ever.
21. Charley Burley: A natural middleweight that often fought and defeated bigger man like Archie Moore.Never received the title shot that he deserved.
22. Roy Jones Jr. A trmendously fast fighter. Best at middleweight but also won the heavyweight title.
23. Carmen Basillio: One of the most determined fighters of all time beating the legendary Sugar Ray Robinson once.
24. Mickey Walker: Called The Toy Bulldog for good reason. Very determined and often fought much bigger fighters.
25. Gene Tunney: What a marvelous all around fighter he was and is very underrated. Known for beating Dempsey.
Note: There are some great fighters that are not on this list especially the bigger guys like Ali, Louis, and Holmes who were certainly alltime greats. No disrespect intended here at all.

The blogbaba's top twenty pound for pound all time:
1. Sugar Ray Robinson: His compitition read like a wall at the hall of fame.
2. Muhammed Ali: "The greatest" in and out of the ring, nobody faced heavier hitters.
3. Ricardo Lopez: Best pure boxer I have ever seen
4. Khaosai Galazy: Best Asian boxer I have ever seen
5. Julio Cesar Chavez: Career speaks for itself
6/7. Roberto Duran/Joe Gans: The toughest, hardest man I ever saw was Duran, and by all literary accounts Gans was the same for his era. Far and away the best lightweights who ever lived. (tie)
8/7. Willie Pep/Pernell Whitaker: Best defensive fighter of all time (tie)
10. Evander Holyfield: The definition of "heart", a man who truly does not know the meaning of fear.
11. Roy Jones Jr.: In his prime the quickest human being I have ever seen, redefined the definition of "speed". Inhumanly fast, never seen anything like him before or since.
12. Charley Burly: I respect Eddie Futch that much.
13/14. Gerald McClellan/Salvador Sanchez: I chose thirteen intentionally, as big a loss to boxing as Salvador Sanchez, and as big a talent. Two heartbreaking tradgies.
15. Marvin Hagler: Everything a working man could aspire to be, defined toughness and proved he was as good or better than anyone who ever laced up the gloves.
16. Archie Moore: His career also speaks for itself, nobody KOed more people.
17. Meldrick Taylor: Fastest combinations in boxing, and a warriors heart.
18. Thomas Hearns: The hardest punching welterweight in the history of boxing.
19. Ray Leonard: Artificial sweetner, not the real Sugar, but still managed to hang Hagler's bald headed scalp next to Hearns and Duran's, quite an accomplishment beating three fighters I rank higher than him. Never liked a runner, but Ray was the best of the style.
20. Joe Louis: A great American hero and the longest reigning heavyweight champ of them all.
Great question, thanks for the trip down memory lane.
Honorable mention, Carmine Basilo for creating the boxing hall of fame, the place is like a church to most of us.

It's opinion depending on their performance and the quality of their opponents. But it is no doubt Fedor, GSP, and Silva can interchangeably be the top 3. Most people think Fedor should go in the UFC where he will be faced with constant high quality opponents rather than ex-UFC fighters/rejects.
