every year all fall off except two. the tree is five years old.

They fall because the stems of the fruit die and become brittle. For example, a limb of a tree which is alive is very flexible, yet fallen limbs after being on the ground for a while are easy to snap, however they only snap if you put forth the force to snap them. The ones who don't fall just haven't had a strong enough force (wind) to break the dead stem away from the branch it is growing on.

The frost . If u want to eat a persimmon put it in the freezer and leave it there until u can eat it. The freezing improves the flavor. When it gets near frost time I pick them and put them in the freezer ,it gets rid of the pucker power.
