Recently large demonstrations have taken place across the country protesting the fact that Congress is finally addressing the issue of illegal immigration.
Certain people are angry that the US might protect its own
borders, might make it harder to sneak into this country and, once here, to stay indefinitely.
Let me see if I correctly understand the thinking behind these protests.
Let's say I break into your house. Let's say that when you discover me in your house, you insist that I leave. But I say, "I've made all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept the floors.
I've done all the things you don't like to do. I'm hard-working and honest (except for when I broke into your house). According to the protesters:
a. You are: Required to let me stay in your house;
b. Required to add me to your family's insurance plan;
c. You are Required to Educate my kids;
d. You are Required to Provide other benefits to me and to my family

(my husband will do all of your yard work because he is also
hard-working and honest, except for that breaking in part).

If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my RIGHT to be
there.
It's only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do,and I'm just trying to better myself. I'm a hard-working and honest,
person, except for well, you know, I did break into your house.

And what a deal it is for me! I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do
about it without being accused of cold, uncaring, selfish, prejudiced, and bigoted behavior. Oh yeah, I DEMAND that you to learn MY LANGUAGE so
YOU can communicate with ME!

Why can't people see how ridiculous this is? Only in America .

Yuka...I suppose it's the American Taxpayers fault that Mexico has no viable economy. That policy wasn't there, doesn't mean the law wasn't!

You forgot the part where they have babies after breaking into your house so you have to put the baby's name on the title to the house.

the U.S.congress should not even be addressing the issue of illegal immigration do i feel this way because lm cold-hearted, wicked person anyone that knows me knows that is not the case is that for congress to be considering giving amnestry to the 12 illegally immigrants in this country, when there are people born and raised in this country who are homeless and straving who are living in the streets and in homeless shelters, or in drop-in centers, a lot of them through no fault of their own simply because of the idealogy that this country lives under which is profits before people does not make any sense at all, and let me bring into notice that the government of mexico are nothing but a much of hypocrites for them to be pressuring the president and the congress of the U.S. to give amnestry to their countryman and woman when they turn away people who try to sneak into mexico everyday is ridiculous.

Well, the problem with the people (both Americans and foreigners) that think that illegal immigration is just fine is that they believe that YOU should put people like that up, so that THEY can reap the benefits.

As for the $$$ aspect....you do realize that you're dealing with the same people who think we should tax ourselves to death to clean up the planet, don't you?

That has been said here so many times I didn't read past your second sentence. In my opinion the analogy is what is ridiculous, my home hasn't been broken into and I have been paying taxes (which some of go to welfare recipients) all of my adult life, there are a lot of things I object to paying for but nobody listens.

Well said and no it doesn't make any sense.
People need to learn to make their own countries like America, not sneak in here.

but supposing that all your family members ended up that way in that house..... including yourself? why cant you pardon this lawbreaker as well?

you did not buy this house but you forcefully took over from the original occupant..

if you forgave a previous burglar 20 years back for breaking in the same way, what makes the present bandit different from the last one?

I agree.

It is insane.

Our elected representatives have a lot to answer for.

your analogy is flawed!!!!

here is a better one. imagine you live in an apartment. the owner of the apartment doesn't want to hire your husband because he would have to pay him a decent wage. the owner decides to attract foreign workers with or without papers to do the job your husband could do. the difference is that the owner pays him less than your husband, the immigrant works harder, with less bathroom breaks, and doesn't complain about the lack of medical insurance and a retirement plan. the foreigner worker leaves his country because his country is paying him only $45 a week and barely has enough money to feed his kids. in fact one of his sons has already died from malnutrition. the immigrants want to come to the USA legally but he doesn't have the money or resources to ever make it. instead he must choose: labeled a criminal by people like you when his only crime is wanting a better life or stay in his native country where he can break his back while he watches his children die???

hhhhmmmm that's a hard one isn't it??? WW U DO and WWJD????

and protesting is about the hypocrisy of the immigration issue in our country created by the lack of policy that creates viable options for the American worker, the corporation who seeks to illegal hire, and the immigrant who wants the American dream!!!!!!
