I currently weigh 172 and I am 5'3"; according to everything I have read I should be weigh 107-141. I would like to lose 40-50 pounds. I need to find a way to lose it. I have a hard time with willpower and staying motivated. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

If you want to lose 40-50 lbs i'm sorry to say but it will take some really hard work and commitment. You will have to excersice regularly and will start losing weight little by little. It may take up to one and a half years but if you do it right and eat right, it can go way faster! Stay motivated with music or watching tv. Running outside along the beach keeps you SO motivated. If you don't live near a beach, just go running outside. There are so many beautiful things to see. Bring music and i can guarantee you will be more into the music than excersing, which is okay because you won't focus so hard on losing weight but you will have fun. Also eat small portions. Cut out all junk food, eat small portions, drinks lots of water, do not eat after 7:30, exercise daily. Good Luck!
