I have recently started jogging and it is helping. Since I had not been jogging for some time I started with what I call a walk/jog. I would start out walking, jog for a bit, then walk and then jog some more. Good luck.

Although your interested in just losing and toning 2 specific areas of your body you are still going to have to actually work on your entire body.

Here's why. When you do targeted exercises they tone the area but they do not remove any fat that you may have in the area, so you are going to have to burn the fat off.

Cardio (aerobics) is the fastest way to burn calories. It can be as simple and unstructured as brisk walking for 45 minutes a day or you can plan to do an programmed cardio routine like TaeBo, stepping or kick boxing.

My favorite is TaeBo as it burns a lot of calories but is also fun to do so it doesn't seem like a chore. Try to do your cardio workout 5 times a week and for at least 45 minutes. If you have not worked out for a while start slowly and build up.

Then on to the targeted exercises.
For the stomach forget the standard crunches as they are not as effective as the bicycle and alternate leg bicycle. Do toe touches but not while standing up, do the lying down, with your legs in the air and try to touch your toes by reaching with your hands and pulling up with your stomach muscles.

Do push aways by again lying on your back, hands crossed over your chest, feet raised off the floor, bring one knee towards your chest then kick it away towards the other foot. Then do the other leg. During this entire time make sure your toes don't touch the ground. This will help greatly tone your lower abs.

For your thighs do side legs lifts. Be sure to do them v-e-r-y slowly. It's the slow motion that will tone the full range of motion.
If you have any stairs that you can go up and down-perfect. Do a mixture of running up and down (great cardio), taking 2 stairs at a time going up and also just going up and down the bottom step (like a stepper). The full range of of the 2 steps going up will help the upper thighs and butt and the single step will help the lower thighs and calves.

If you have problems with your inner thighs. Stand up with feet a bit wider than your shoulders, slowly lower yourself toward the floor by bending your knees. When you are lowered about 1 foot bring yourself back up by squeezing your inner thighs and butt and have your inner thighs bring you back up. You should feel it in both your thighs and butt. Try to do 50 of these each day.

In order to keep any new fat from depositing in your stomach and thighs, watch what you eat. Avoid the normal junk food and drink plenty of water.

By doing cardio, targeted exercises and eating healthy foods you will blast that fat and tone those muscles in no time.

Yea. Running helps a lot and i effects your whole body. You can also make a sideways L with your legs and do crunches which should get rid of your tummy pretty fast. Just remember to cut down on foot and only eat when your hungrey.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)
