SCAM. SCAM! Do NOT send any information. Theses scams start out looking innocent, but someone will try and squeeze you for money before they send you your "winnings".
Put that e-mail in your junk box and block the sender.
You don't want to mess with those international lottery scams.
Just buy a scratch ticket if you want to gamble. Or go to an Indian Reservation casino.

It is scam. Yahoo (insert any company name here, this answer works for all!) do not run an email lottery, if they did you could guarantee it would be advertised all over their home page. Check out these links and search answers to see how many people 'win' the exact same lottery every day
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/lottery_sca...
http://www.hoax-slayer.com/email-lottery-scams.html
Do not click on any links, the page you will be taken to will look authentic but is not
Do not send them a 'courier fee' or any other money
Do not hand over any bank details or passwords
Do report spam
Do delete
Remember there is no such thing as a free lunch. You cannot win a lottery if you haven ot bought a ticket. Anyone can set up an email account with Yahoo, they can use any combination of letters they choose. I could be 'thequeenmother@yahoo.com' or 'disneyfreeticketsgenuine@yahoo.com' That doesn't mean that I am either of these and is fine as long as I don't try to use the address to mislead people. Don't be fooled by legitimate looking email addresses which end the same way as any other free account, don't be fooled by fictitious titles such as 'Dr' or 'Executive Director of Winner Claims'.
(I've answered this question so many times that I now keep this answer on my desktop and just copy and paste....that should give you a clue!)

The odds of winning a lottery are millions to one. So what do you think the odds are of winning a foreign lottery that you did not play?
The only way to win the lottery in the UK is to buy a ticket. It's just that simple.
People in the UK would be really annoyed if the found out that money they had invested in the prize pool was being given away to random people in foreign countries.

No the only way you would get email notification from Camelot (the company who run the lottery - check the lotto website) would be if you entered and paid your £1 via the internet - but they would already have your name and address - they just want your bank details so they can apply for credit in your name and maybe also withdraw money from your account

No, it is not legit. Did you ever enter the UK lottery? If not, how could you have won? They would ask for money after they got your basic information.

Cautious! probably it's a fraud. check on the PC the name of the lottery and you will see. I have received similar proposals from S. Africa, Spain, UK. The normally ask your name address and later when you contact them they ask some money for expenses etc.

NO!
do you remember entering a UK lottery?
it's a scam, ignore it & don't fall for it.
if it sounds to good to be true, it's usually because it is!
they're hoping your greed will blind you into parting with your cash & most of these scams are sponsoring terrorism.
