Get your mom to take you to Healthy Inspirations, please. It combines a nutritious food plan (food from the grocery, not "pre-packaged" meals), with exercise (they have a gym on site), so that you actually change your lifestyle, not just a "diet". They focus on LONG TERM - keeping the excess weight off for a year, and they give you lots of attention and support. They do have plans for teenagers. Of course, check with your physician first before embarking on a exercise plan.
I weighed about 130 at 14 yo; have tried various fad diets, lost the weight, gained it back, more fat each time. I felt terrible, but I couldn't seem to keep the fat off, or stop eating things that I enjoyed. Now, I'm slowly but steadily losing the fat, and learning proper proportions, etc.
You must be patient -- you didn't gain in a month, and you won't lose it all in a month. But, you can learn proper food choices, that you can take with you through life.
Good luck!

Yea, I know what you mean. It's killing me. I'm 14 too, but I weight 120. Anywho, I used to be real skinny, but now I dont have the time to excercise or play sports which is what I love to do. I think you should get into a sports club and just not think about your diet, enjoy the game and the more you enjoy it, the faster the weight will go. Trust me on this, I've been playing for most of my life and now, eh, like I said, no time [since I moved] So just play sports, when you have time maybe jog, you can do that in your house if you wanted, maybe run up the stairs and down. And im currently on a diet, it's really hard to not eat, but i'm actually trying to skip lunch, it only lasted a day. lol So what i'm doing is just eating my lunch, trying to eat less, and drinking pure water. Except for mornings, and you'll see how just a drink makes a difference!
Sorry if this is long, also try eating fruits, and since I hate vegetables, maybe you do too, but if you don't, try to eat as much as you can. Another thing is, try to stay active. Go to the mall, go outside for fresh air, dont be lazy and stuff. If you wake up early, it makes a difference too. Get 8 straight hours of sleep and wake up and just mozy around, go to the mall. Just get outside.
Good luck! =D

I hope you want to lose it for yourself not because everyone else says you need to. You are too young to feel this way and have weight issues. Now is the time to do something about it before you get older and want to start a family. You decide what you want to eat, even if whatever your family is eating isn't healthy. Choose fruits, veggies, and lean meat like chicken or turkey. No fried foods or take out foods! Fresh foods are the best for you instead of those in a can or box. and no snacking inbetween meals unless it's a piece of fruit or veggies like carrot sticks. Try eating on a smaller plate to keep your portions smaller and no second helpings. Walking and drinking alot of water helps, stay away from sodas.
you can do it! Take one day at a time. The effort will be worth it!

Don't diet, just watch what you eat. I know it sounds weird, but if you stay away from the fad diets and simply cut intake across the board, you'll do better. Obviously, stay away from junk foods and sweets, but it's okay to have a SMALL amount every so often. Everything in moderation.
And keep with the exercise. I know it might not look like it's working, but beneath the skin your fat is being replaced with muscle. Muscles burn calories even when they aren't working, so it can only help you in the long run. You didn't mention what you're doing or how often, but you should do both cardio and weight training.

Oh sweetie, losing weight is never easy for anyone adults included. What about going to see a family doctor they will have some ideas on how to help you do it the right way, so your not staving yourself and it will not seem like a diet. Most of the diet plans on store shelves make you feel hungry and make you feel totally out of it. You have the exercising part of it down you just need a food plan that is right for you. Keep your chin up Love with time and effort your rewards will pay off!

Well, how much of a try have you given the diet and exercise? It doesn't happen overnight, and I know you are impatient to lose the weight, but you have to stick with your plan and be determined and patient.
Just make sure you are active every day....swimming is a great exercise that works on every muscle of the body....and it's fun, too, so it won't seem as though you are "working out". Also, make it a daily habit to take a walk in the evenings as well. Don't eat snacks at night, or if you do, make it fruit or raw veggies or something healthy.
Drinking soda will put weight on you FAST, so make sure you cut those out of your daily food intake.
I really hope you will try to be positive, and see that the people who are making fun of you are not worth your time. Keep faith in yourself and your goals, and you should be fine......
Good luck, sweetie! = )

KeLs - me too - I have not tried any diet as they never work and get you on that rebounding wagon where weight goes down and up like a roller coaster and then your heart quits and you die. I have done nutrition counseling with directed exercise and portion control using the food pyramid and that works. You lose 2 to 5 pounds a month which could be permanent if you stick to it. My problem is I love food (not deserts - and I actually dislike sugar) and often eat two full dinners. I have hunted everywhere for friends to exercise and work on this with me and no one will come forward and commit to weight loss and I can't seem to commit on my own. I have now put it out there on dating sites for someone who really wants to work to build a relationship through working on self image and self respect through weight loss and permanent control. Maybe you could come up with a unique idea like this for someone your age. So far no takers but in this world one thing is certain - there is someone out ther for everyone. Good luck and get a pyramid and post it and see a nutritionist and get the food charts and then think - act - and conquer this.

I don't get it! We have so many programs about people being fat, and then so many programs about not being a size 0! So what are we expected of?? What about the programs about us average normal people? So do the size 0 complainers expect us to be fat and the Fat complainers expect us to be a size 0! It's just gone too far now!

I have been overweight most of my life. When I was in the 7th grade I decided to lose it. I lost 40 lbs by running and walking everyday I also joined weight watchers(which didnt help that much in my opinion). Eating less and healthier is sooo hard for me but i did it. Now that I am an adult I have gained quite a bit weight but I am deciding again to lose it!! It takes a lot of will to lose the weight!!! When you make a mistake and eat something bad just start again. don't give up you can do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Good Luck
Don't listen to those people on your bus and at school they dont matter in life. Do it for yourself and never give up!
