Just wondered if anybody could be of any help with this question as I cant find any answers on the net. When I drink alcohol and go into the fresh air or after I have been in fresh air I get a bout of sneezing fits. Ranging from 5-15 in a row. Then I get a build up in my throat that causes me to spit out. I have noticed red in the spit. This doesnt happen all the time and its just the once that I get this during the evening. I have no pains or aches so i'm confused as to what it can be as it doesnt happen all the time either. I don't know if its linked but I have swelling around my abdominals on the left. The doc said it was fatty tissue though caused when I have a flu type virus. Anyway any help will be appreciated :-)

Thanks for the answers. If it helps I only drink cider and this 'problem' as such only occurs after drinking this. But its not consistent, sometimes it does not happen. Also one last thing, even if I was allergic to something in it would that be a concern that it could be or more than likely is blood that is spat out?

stop drinking and see if it occurs. Try elimination diet to find your allergie. If it is wine some have nitrates.

Great advice given here. Just wanted to add that alcohol thins the blood and aggravates the tissues lining your digestive tract. So when you spit and there is red it could be because of the aggravation to the tissues. Or because you bleed more easily after alcohol consumption.
The sneezing could be allergies and you are breaking open small blood vessels not normally so sensitive until alcohol is added to the mix.

Hope this helps!

It does sound like an allergy. It likely is not the alcohol, but the other ingredients. Change brands, or change drinks. Keep changing until you find one that doesn't do it.
Isn't that the most fun advice you have ever had?

You might be allergic to yeast. I would go to an allergist and see if you are. Tell him or her about the other problems that occur and they should be able to help you. I would stay away from alcohol and see if that helps.

Good Luck
