I got an email from a friend that was very upset because she thought her dog spayed last year February. She took her dog to the vets because it was acting sick. They told her the dog was pregnant and the doctor that did the spay is not longer with them because his license was taken away.

The vets have records that the dogs tubes were tied. They would incur all the expenses involved with the pregnancy should she decide to go that route or they would abort. She talked with a lawyer who suggested that she stay with this clinic because she really doesn't have the money should something go wrong.

Listen "PRINCESS" I was asking the question for a friend who thought her dog was spayed. Apparently she got pregnant, the doctor lost his license. I am so against irresponsible breeding it's not funny. As a matter of fact I'm VP/Secretary of a Rescue Group. I rescue, I foster, I donate, I care, I make a difference. What the hell do you do? So you go to hell and F**K OFF WITCH. Talk your crap to someone else.

WHEN A DOG IS SPAYED THEY REMOVE THE UTERUS THERE ARE NO TYING OF TUBES!

In spay operations, the uterus and ovaries are actually removed, there is no tube tying. Therefore it is impossible for the animal to become pregnant.

I've heard that operations involving 'tube tying' can be done, although I don't see how this works in females, and I certainly don't understand WHY it would be done. If your friend's dog got a straighforward spay, she will no longer have a uterus or ovaries.

OK the vet who did the op was struck off, but this could be for something like falsifying documents, doesn't mean he was incapable of spaying a dog. If I was your friend, I would phone the vet surgery where it was done and query this if worried - ask what the spay operation they perform involves.

Your friend should know if the dog has been properly spayed - if she hasn't, she will still go into heat which is easily noticeable by the swollen vulva - it goes very red and usually drips a fair bit.

I don't think that her tubes would even be tied..The vet removes the ovaries and uterus. If anything maybe the bad vet just didn't bother spaying her.. BUT has she been coming into heat 2 ce a year?? If she has, then your friend would have known before that there was a problem.. If she hasn't been coming into heat then she is NOT pregnant.

That's just odd... Maybe cheap clinics tie the tubes and real vets remove the ovaries and uterus. I would think that tying the tubes would be the cheaper way to go.. Perhaps it's done to save money??
Did the ***** come into season at all??
She should have her spayed.. I mean she hadn't planned it, she isn't set up for it, doesn't have the homes etc.. Allowing them to do the surgery properly would be a better way to go.

First off dogs do NOT get their tubes tied..secondly if the dog was spayed then there is NO way she can be pregnant..in a spay the uterus and ovaries are removed so it becomes IMPOSSIBLE for a dog to go in heat or become pregnant..If the dog is pregnant then she was NOT spayed.
If the dog is pregnant then your friend should have noticed 1) that she was in heat 2) that a breeding took place. If she was not spayed she should have been in heat twice in the past year.

If a tubal ligation wasn't done properly, the dog can get pregnant. However, spaying a dog normally involves a complete hysterectomy, which would mean the dog isn't pregnant, unless the spaying was never actually carried out.

There is the likelihood. Sperm is possible for a targeted period of time. Up to 2 weeks. The feminine must had been spayed if it is facet of the day care laws. Let the landlord of the feminine understand what occurred as she must be looked at via the vet to be certain. There is an excessively mild danger that she would be pregnant in the event that they tied. Keeton- What Vet college did you cross to?

I also had a friend who had her dog done and it then got pregnant the following year. I think some vets either don't do the surgery or take out the wrong bits (!?). It is unlikely that they will ever get pregnant afterwards but is certainly possible if the procedure isnt performed correctly.
